European Championship? No problem for the metropolradruhr! We are thrilled to share that metropolradruhr continues to achieve remarkable success in 2024!  Up until July, our bike sharing service has seen a significant increase in both the number of users and the number of rentals compared to the same period last year. What’s especially exciting is the incredible growth in our user base — from nearly 275,000 to over 360,000! The demand for our bikes has surged, particularly in Dortmund and Gelsenkirchen, with European Championship matches driving record-breaking rental numbers in June and July. nextbike goes festival bike! 🎉 As part of one of our latest media collaborations with Yello Strom GmbH, our bikes became the perfect means of transport for the Eat Play Love festival in Cologne. Another interpretation of our well established “EventBike” for multiple occasions, mostly conferences or sports events, the bikes now brought people to and fro the festival for free. Besides that, the media campaign went live on our bikes in 11 cities! At nextbike we like to share time and experiences with our colleagues 💙. In addition to our “Active Break”, we regularly get together for different sport activities such as volleyball, football or spikeball. And once a year, our Headquarter participates in a Leipzig wide company run - this year in colorful new outfits 🎉! Besides the many athletic events, there are also those where we just share our time together and use it to help each other out. As for example during the monthly “Bike Clinic”, an event initiated by our development department. Every colleague is invited to our production-side, where people can bring their bikes in need of repair, as well as drinks and food. Together with experienced workshop colleagues, bikes are being repaired, and stories are being shared. Spending time with our colleagues that goes beyond just working is an important part of our culture: Beyond regular team events there are even more get-togethers like the “Volunteers Day”, “Gin Friday” (no photos 😉) and “App Testing Breakfast”. These events not only make our jobs more enjoyable, they also make us better at our jobs. 🎊 We received cheerful birthday wishes from Slovenia! 💙 Our dear colleagues from Slovenia sent us all their best wishes for the 20th anniversary of nextbike. Thanks to the partnership with the public transport provider Nomago, we offer an integrated mobility solution across Slovenia since 2018. Today, more than 500 pedal bikes and electric bikes can be rented across 17 cities at 100 stations, including the capital Ljubljana. What started with 2,000 bikes in late February will grow to 7,000 bikes this month! The Upper Silesian Metropolitan region GZM in Poland has shown itself to be ready for a new mode of transport. Within the first 5 months, the Metrorower system by Nextbike Polska S.A. has been used for 420,000 trips, resulting in almost 13 million minutes spent on bikes and almost 1.7 million kilometers travelled. The additional 5,000 bikes are now available in the 31 cities - a year ahead of schedule. And we have even more good news for the inhabitants: MultiSport cardholders can use the bikes for free for one hour a day! Our partnership with Croatia has been getting people on bikes for over a decade now.  Ever since 2013 nextbike Croatia has continued to grow, developing a remarkable fleet of over 1.500 bikes. The success story continues! After a successful partnership of 13 years and an increase in usage of over 50% last year, the city Stadt Norderstedt can get excited for an expansion in the following month! Until September 100 brand new bikes and cargo bikes will join the fleet which means the residents and visitors of Norderstedt can look forward to riding a grand total of 200 bikes in the near future. Especially the high density of cargo bikes compared to the number of residents in the city (25 cargo bikes/83.000 inhabitants) is unique and shows the city's commitment to a new way of mobility. 🎉 12 years of partnership - what a ride! 💪 Neofytos Ioannou has been our license holder in Cyprus for more than a decade now. In that time, he and his team managed to expand the bike sharing network beginning in Limassol nearly to the whole island. Now 1,500 bikes are made available to visitors and inhabitants of Cyprus across more than 200 stations. It looks like 2024 will be the best of the last 20 years 🎉! The first six months at least break records. Let’s take a look at the numbers: ➡ Currently, we are providing bike sharing systems across more than 300 locations in 21 countries, over 90% of which on behalf of a city or respectively a public transport company. ➡ In the last 6 months, 1.35 million people have used our services regularly and more than 424,000 people have taken to a nextbike for the very first time, that is roughly twice as many as in the previous year - isn’t that amazing?! ➡ Also, all of our users together have ridden our bikes roughly 24 million times. This means they conducted 5 million more rides this year, than they did last year at the same time! These numbers demonstrate impressively the growing demand for active and sustainable micromobility solutions as part of public transport all across Europe.  We are very proud to be part of the transition to a more sustainable people-centered infrastructure and thankful to our partners for making mobility more sustainable and accessible one bike at a time. #BikeSharevolution #Publictransport #BikeSharing #SustainableMobility
