Management bedeutet, durch Weitblick und Vertrauen den Weg zu bereiten, als Team Großes zu erreichen.

In the world of management, proactive action is key to success. Effective leadership means steering processes to achieve desired outcomes before problems arise. It's about anticipating challenges rather than just stepping in as a rescuer. As a leader, your role is to cultivate not just "rescuers," but especially those colleagues who prevent projects from going off course in the first place. Would you consider the captain of a ship in distress a hero, even if everyone on board survived? What matters in management is just as vital for projects. Our Development Spaces are designed to ensure your MVP or PoC doesn't falter but launches successfully. Special thanks to the MaibornWolff Mobile Team led by Robert Vasenda, our DigitalDesign experts like Stefan Knecht, and the AI/DATA specialists in Franziska Schleuter's team. Together, MaibornWolff GmbH and Ojemba we've built Development Spaces with a focus on: *Quality*: The belief that a prototype will just be discarded is a misconception. Prototypes often evolve, leading to costly technical debt. With Prototype Lounge, we minimize this from the start. *Market Readiness*: Going live introduces new challenges like support and maintenance. A strong DevOps approach from the outset ensures smooth transitions, managed by our dedicated team. *State-of-the-Art Digital Design*: An MVP Lounge typically lasts 6 weeks, leaving no room for downtime. Our specially trained designers efficiently prioritize tasks to ensure focused development efforts. Ready to take a proactive approach to your projects and ensure lasting success? Reach out to us today—we’d love to help you on your journey!

Delivering software in 10 weeks or the power of mixed teams from Germany and Africa: Ojemba, a MaibornWolff subsidiary offering top-tier software development in Rwanda, has established the Product Studio. With our colleague Sebastian Krieg, Head of New Business at Ojemba, we discussed  the market push of software products. 1️⃣ What does the Product Studio do and what are its benefits? 𝗦𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻: "We offer a seamless service range from prototype construction to development in managed teams. The Product Studio bridges this gap, enabling customers to build quickly scalable B2B and B2C software solutions. We deliver market-ready software in 10 weeks." 2️⃣ Market-ready software in 10 weeks. That sounds sporty. Sebastian, you were in charge of one of the most important development areas at MaibornWolff. From your many years of experience, what are the most important challenges for software development at this pace? 𝗦𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻: "Two main challenges are market readiness and GDPR compliance. • Market Readiness: Once software goes live, new challenges like support, maintenance, and performance come into play. Quality and a strong DevOps approach from the outset are crucial. Our skilled colleagues ensure smooth transitions.    • GDPR Compliance: Managing customer data requires strict adherence to GDPR and IT security standards. We meet legal and customer-specific requirements, with flexible project setups. We also plan for smooth transitions to internal development teams, often co-developing post go-live with the customer. This is a great opportunity, though not mandatory." Thank you Sebastian for the interview. What are your thoughts on this?

From Idea to #MVP: How mixed Teams from Germany and Rwanda turn Concepts into Market-Ready MVPs. We continue our interview with Sebastian Krieg, Head of New Business at Ojemba, a MaibornWolff subsidiary offering top-tier software development in Rwanda. 𝗦𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻, 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗩𝗣 𝗟𝗮𝗯? Sebastian: "While the Prototype Lounge is focused on building PoCs, with the MVP Lab we aim to create a fast solution for MVP development." 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗩𝗣 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁? Sebastian: "Challenges like quality and trust also need to be addressed in MVP development. Additionally, the topic of interfaces becomes more relevant - not just technical interfaces but also professional ones involving different stakeholders or departments such as design." 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗷𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗮, 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗪𝗼𝗹𝗳𝗳, 𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀? Sebastian:   • "𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘅𝘆 𝗣𝗢 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆: As part of the cross-functional mixed team, we always see a Proxy PO who prioritizes client requirements and takes care of the interfaces. It is not uncommon for these agreements to take place on-site with the customer. • 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝗼𝗳-𝘁𝗵𝗲-𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: An MVP Lounge usually lasts 6 weeks, which is not much time. Therefore, it is crucial that there are no idle times in the development team and that tasks are prioritized. To achieve this, our digital designers are specially trained and have been fulfilling this role for years. • 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴: Our developers are intrinsically motivated to actively think along and bring proactive suggestions to the project despite the physical distance from the customer. We pay close attention to such skills in the selection of personnel. Furthermore, an emotional bond with the project within the team is necessary. This can be achieved through many measures and is often neglected in offshoring." Do you already have an idea that needs to be realized? Comment below or contact us to learn more!

The Power of Mixed Teams for Rapid #Prototyping : In our interview series, we explore how mixed teams drive success in software projects. Discover insights from Sebastian Krieg, Head of New Business at Ojemba, a MaibornWolff subsidiary renowned for premium software development in Rwanda. Today, Sebastian introduces our innovative Prototype Lounge. 𝗦𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝟭𝟱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀, 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹? Sebastian: “Absolutely. Rapid prototyping and mixed teams are not mutually exclusive; in fact, they complement each other perfectly.” 𝗪𝗵𝘆? Sebastian: "Faster Scaling: Mixed teams greatly enhance the ability to scale, offering access to a broader talent pool. Optimal Resource Efficiency: Depending on the complexity and specific requirements of tasks, including those for on-site needs, a cost-efficient team can be assembled." 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗷𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗮 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀? Sebastian: "At Ojemba, we defined the Prototype Lounge which is a concept for developing software prototypes within 3 weeks for our customers. I would like to emphasize 3 aspects: 1. 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: The notion that “it’s just a prototype, it will be discarded” is something I have encountered frequently, but honestly, I have never seen a successful prototype that was truly discarded. In reality, prototypes often evolved with additional features until they go live. This frequently results in technical debt, which can be costly. With Prototype Lounge we want to limit technical debts from the beginning. 2. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗲: Rwanda shares the same time zone as Germany, which is a significant advantage for project setup. 3. 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁: Successful prototypes are a vital asset for a company as they embody innovation. I want them to be in reliable hands. A development team with a shared understanding of architecture, equivalent training, and the benefit of MaibornWolff’s 30 years of project experience forms an outstanding combination.

Uncovering Tech in Africa + Building Africa's Tech Community 🌍

In 2018, Rwanda spent $40 million to be on the sleeve of Arsenal’s jersey. Everyone thought they were nuts. This was a country nine times smaller than the UK - with a GDP of $10 billion and an average income of $700 per Rwandan. So - why were they paying off one of the richest football clubs in the world? Well, Rwanda had a plan. They wanted to flip their painful past on its head and be a top destination for tourism and business. The campaign, “Visit Rwanda” was born to bring the world to Rwanda. And they invested heavy - into football. Rwanda dropped $40 million to get onto Arsenal’s jersey. And the deals didnt stop with Arsenal: - Rwanda paid 10 million Euros to sponsor Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2019. - Last year, Bayern Munich signed a five-year deal with Rwanda (but they kept the dollar figure sealed..) These clubs promote Rwanda with “Visit Rwanda” in their stadiums on game days and on their jerseys. So why football? Well, Rwanda figured that football isn’t just a game. It’s a movement. Stadiums get packed with fans who are emotionally attached to these clubs - through wins and losses. And brands want to get in on this passion. So it's not surprising that football sponsorships is a $39.36 billion industry. But it seems that there’s value for money. That Arsenal sleeve gets seen 35 million times a day. Now, Rwanda is in that global spotlight. And the millions have come back around: In 2022, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain generated over $160 million in media value for Rwanda. And five years since the Visit Rwanda campaign kicked off: - Tourism revenue soared to $620 million, from $438 in 2017 - Over 1.4 million tourists visited Rwanda last year (3x more than in 2021) But football is just one thing Rwanda bet big on. Today on Tech Safari, Mercy Awiti is diving Rwanda's full Visit Rwanda playbook. Grab it in your inbox here 💌 www.techsafari.io PS - Rwanda’s ‘Visit Rwanda’ playbook is one of the best PR campaigns I've seen. Do you know any others? let me know in the comments 👇🏾
