David’s courage in discussing his young son’s diagnosis with TECPR2, a rare, genetic, and fatal neurodegenerative disorder, is both moving and inspiring. His dedication to raising awareness and finding a cure for this debilitating condition gives hope to countless families. Peggy’s expertise on Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer highlighted the importance of genetic testing and early intervention, offering essential guidance for those at risk. 🙏 🧬 To those facing the challenges of rare genetic diseases or hereditary cancer: there is always hope. Science, awareness, and community support can make a real difference. Book bans are denying women access to basic health education. In over 20 states, thousands of women's health and anatomy books are banned from prisons. This forces incarcerated women to decipher what's happening in their own bodies and puts them at higher risk of dying from preventable, treatable conditions. To fight this dangerous censorship, Patients & Purpose, an OHG company, partnered with The Claremont Forum and a contact inside to develop a women's health textbook that sneaks past these book bans. How did they do it? First, the team created a women's health book. Then each page was sent individually to a contact on the inside. She stitched together the pages with dental floss, sold at the prison commissary in 6-inch lengths to prevent strangulation. Once assembled, she shared the book with women, who copied each page of the book by hand. We are super proud of the work our team at #PatientsandPurpose put into this initiative. Want to learn more?
