The first closing of our second fund is done at €44 million! 🍾 Our Fund II for #startup investments in transformative real estate technologies is now online and with the first closing, we have already reached more than three times the volume of the first closing of our first fund. PT1 Early-Stage Fund II is now live and operational, so we're calling all innovative #Futurebuilders from across Europe that tackle the mega challenges of our time created by increasing scarcity of natural resources, affordable living space and skilled labour. Let's transform the built world together! For the first closing, we welcome more prominent investors like Helaba, Schörghuber Corporate Group, Halton Group or the returning Fund I investor noventic group, who are joining the already announced Commerz Real AG, BRUNATA-METRONA GmbH & Co. KG, evoreal GmbH, JLL Spark, Liechtenstein Group, OTTO WULFF, Scout24 Group and Supernova Invest GmbH. Once again, numerous entrepreneurs and top managers from the scene like Thomas Wiegand, Thomas Zinnöcker and Birgit Rahn-Werner have invested. Welcome to the family! I had the pleasure to chat with Dr. Fabian Heilemann from our esteemed co-investor AENU & Jan Thomas / Startup Insider - not just covering the Voltfang round but also aspects of the recent Startup-Verband Strategy and the overall todos for optimizing the Geman regulatory system to foster innovation and resilience: https://lnkd.in/ddcnDBDn; 3. Our Fund 1 portco ecoworks had a couple of highlights to report, not only did leading nordic impact group Norrsken name them one of the 100 top companies to watch worldwide (and even put ecoworks' logo on NYC's Time Square) but furthermore Forbes did an extensive feature on the co-founder / CEO Emanuel Heisenberg https://lnkd.in/dT7bGQS7; 6. What Emanuel heard from most traditional construction CEOs when he pitched his big plans for serial renovation of the existing building stock: "You cannot simply put an energy efficient second skin on a building. Retrofitting houses to cut CO2 emissions while tenants remain in place is a logistical nightmare. The scale is enormous. You would need multiple own factories to prefabricate everything. The problem is too big." Not for Emanuel Heisenberg and his team at ecoworks. They have shown that through courageous thinking, hard work and a little help from bold investors, almost everything is possible. In 2022, ecoworks was awarded ZIA PropTech of the year, this year spotlighted as one of “100 Ways to Fix the Future” by Norrsken VC, with the ecoworks logo lighting up New York’s Times Square... and now Emanuel graces the cover of Forbes magazine. Now being a thought and market leader in Germany with global potential, ecoworks is redefining serial renovation by shifting 80% of the workload from the construction site to the factory. As the lead investor of the seed financing round and ecoworks Board member ever since, we have been psyched to see this success story unfold every day since the early beginnings. Together with ZIA German Property Federation, we brought together over 100 thought leaders, founders, and pioneers at the forefront of #energy, #RealEstate and infrastructure. This exclusive evening has become one of our favorite traditions, providing an unmatched opportunity to connect and exchange ideas over great food and Bavarian brews. From visionary founders to seasoned investors and industry incumbents, everyone was united by a shared passion for driving innovation in the sector. Discussions were as rich as the food on the menu, delving into key topics shaping the future of our cities, energy systems and the green transformation.
