Do you already know our new reference of the month? Innovative construction projects also bring great challenges with them. For example, how do you ensure optimum structure- and footfall sound insulation in a 65 metre high timber hybrid building? 🚧 The challenge: wooden ceilings have a lower mass than concrete ceilings and are susceptible to vibrations - which leads to poorer sound values. An innovative solution was needed to ensure living comfort on the 25 cm thick ceilings. 💡 The solution: the development of a new installation method and our revolutionary Prefab Floor 2K special binder. Using a special hose system, the material was pumped up precisely and applied in just one application step. This process made it possible to insulate 640 m² per floor in just two days - a real time-saver! 👷♂️This new technology not only reduces the construction time, but also prevents moisture-related damage to the wooden structure - ideal for urban timber construction. 🚀 Innovation on solid grounds - iAero Centre, Yeovil (UK) The iAero aerospace research, design and innovation facility in Yeovil, a state-of-the-art research and innovation centre, covers approximately 2,400 m². In addition to the research facilities, the centre also has offices, workshops, meeting and recreation rooms as well as storage space for hazardous goods. 🛠️ The challenge: The floor plays a decisive role in a research centre of this size and importance. It must be able to withstand extreme mechanical and chemical loads. ✨ Our solution: To meet these requirements, the floor was coated with Epoxy ESD Color 3K. In August, our dual students Vanessa and Franziska had the opportunity to attend a summer camp in Tianjin, China, through their university Private Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Technik. There they dived deep into the country's fascinating culture. From taking part in a traditional tea ceremony and learning the art of wood carving to Chinese painting and writing - the programme was as varied as it was exciting. An absolutely unforgettable experience was the visit to the Great Wall of China, where they mastered a full 6 km uphill and downhill. The programme remained sporty with table tennis and wushu, an impressive and acrobatic form of Chinese martial arts. In the capital Beijing, they experienced majestic sights such as the Temple of Heaven, enjoyed a spectacular acrobatics show 🎭 and marvelled at the beauty of the Summer Palace. 🏅 Award-winning! 🏅 👏 We are extremely proud of our newly qualified chemical laboratory technicians! The big IHK award ceremony for the best graduates of the 2024 summer final examination has just taken place in the Weser-Ems-Halle in Oldenburg. Five of our eight graduates passed with ‘very good’ in June. Jana Bruns, Alina Diekmann, Dinah Gregorzuk, Niklas Konnemann and Mara Menke were able to shine in the spotlight today. 🎉 For us as a business responsible for trainees, this is a highlight every year, as we also receive a special certificate for our achievements as a company. The first time was actually some 29 years ago and the streak of success continues. ⛪ A piece of history in new splendour - Salvator Church Duisburg Do you already know our reference of the month? The Salvator Church, an impressive late Gothic building dating back to 1316, is one of the most important and tallest churches in Duisburg. Over the centuries, it has been restored several times. Now, together with the Protestant parish of Alt-Duisburg, an extensive refurbishment has been completed, allowing the historic building to shine in new splendour! 🛠️ The challenge: Over the centuries, the capped ceiling of the plateau became leaky, causing damage due to rainwater seeping into the vaulted cellar. The situation below the plateau was particularly tricky, where the vault was only separated from the slabs by a thin layer of mortar and a welded membrane. ✨ Our solution: The restoration was carried out with the utmost precision and in close collaboration with the heritage authority. Firstly, the affected panels were carefully removed, cleaned and returned exactly to their original position. To prevent future damage, the waterproofing was renewed. A particular challenge was to preserve the waterproofing membranes to protect the basement ceiling below, while at the same time restoring the existing mortar layer and the slabs above. Modern architecture in a historic townscape? Walldürn's sports centre! 🛠️ Problem: The local vertical board cladding with wood from the Walldürn municipal forest should be permanently protected from the weather and at the same time given a matching colour. ✨ Our solution: thanks to a special glaze, the wood remains weatherproof and shines in bright colours.
