Info
r3.0 was established to convene a neutral, pre-competitive, global public good space for diverse stakeholders to co-create solutions whereby the sustainability community raises its level of ambition to play its rightful role in spurring a regenerative, distributive and restorative economy. r 3.0 does this by curating events (such as conferences, labs, and virtual online dialogues) and Blueprint Projects that gather Working Groups to collaborate on designing new structures that build off the foundations of existing standards and frameworks in order to recommend steps that boost transformation towards the ideal form of an economy that serves the wellbeing of all. The platform naturally fosters the type of collaboration that makes a new operating system for humanity possible. The Reporting 3.0 Platform was launched in 2012 by BSD Consulting with the aim to create a global multi-stakeholder community focused on identifying and fulfilling the potential of reporting to serve the intersecting interests of sustainability, financial performance, and growth. To better serve this interest and expand its public good value, an independent not-for-profit structure was established in late 2016 under the name 'Oncommons'.

The newly created Standards Deep Dive Gap Analysis and Guidance module in r3.0's UNSDPI training went live last week and presented the combined use of the UNSDPI with the ESRS, while also delivering a language check to differentiate Enterprise Value Creation from System Value Creation. The module now helps reporters with - a complete step-by-step guidance mechanisms for authentic sustainability reporting, - securing reporting organisations from the greenwashing dangers of the ESG Progress Reporting standards, - adding new insights for risk register owners, allowing for a much more complete risk assessment, - developing new strategic opportunities in a complex world in polycrisis mode due to the System Value Creation focus, - getting much clearer picture of the reality (context) on what useful reporting beyond 'compliance inertia' entails. See a first nearing of the combined use in the picture below and register at https://lnkd.in/eJtdfJGT to join us for one the monthly training dates: Online: November 19/20, 2024, 2.30 pm CET Online: December 17/18, 2024, 230 pm CET Online: January 28/29 2025, 2.30 pm CET Online: February 25/26, 2025, 2.30 pm CET Online: March 25/26, 2025, 2.30 pm CET

After the training is before the training ;-). We just finished our first r3.0 UNSDPI Training of our season 3, and participants were excited. Next week we will share a bit more insight on the combined use of the UNSDPI with the ESRS, a new feature that we have embedded into the training for this season. In the meanwhile, the EU has recognised the UN SDPI as “a starting point” to assess the contribution of the social economy, part of a new report, titled 'Benchmarking the Socio-Economic Performance of the EU Social Economy.' The UNRISD’s SDPI framework receives particular praise for its potential to fill assessment gaps. The report commends the SDPI as a framework “to overcome the limitations of the traditional approach, which fails to take account of the social economy as an agent for sustainable development and at the same time preserves the social economy ability to function as an economic player.” The report points out that the SDPI “identified 12 areas where the social economy makes a strong contribution, such as training vulnerable groups, work integration, attendance at annual general meetings, democratic elections, legitimizing management, and stakeholder participation.” The European Commission’s report further highlights the SDPI’s ability to evaluate “sustainability performance and progress at the organizational level,” and suggests that “it can be a starting point for a macro-level analysis of the contributions of the social economy.” Want to learn more and how to combine the use of the UNSDPI with the ESRS standards? The support for the UNSDPI is growing further! The Institute for Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) released a guidance report 'Connecting Sustainability And Finance' (see: https://lnkd.in/e5NASvzi) in which they praise the UNRISD’s SDPI for putting the spotlight on “the use of measures for true context-based and absolute sustainability performance.” The indicators in the SDPI embed clear, context-based thresholds aligned with social and planetary boundaries to assess sustainability performance. Given the need for harmonization and standardization reiterated in the ICAEW report in this nascent field of sustainability standards, the SDPI sets a benchmark for global standard setters and representatives of key national jurisdictions to develop clear sustainability accounting standards and ensure that current and future frameworks embed the most effective sustainability measurement principles. They also elaborate: "Accounting, reporting, and disclosure standards are not the same thing. If today we have both financial accounting and financial reporting standards as well as financial disclosure standards, we have only recently witnessed the adoption of sustainability reporting and disclosure standards. However, we do not have specific sustainability accounting standards notwithstanding the arguments that the IFRS standards technically suffice." It is clear that the UNSDPI can help to fill a void that needs to be closed. One of the authors of the ICAEW guidance report is Marie-Josée (MJ) Privyk. She has followed the UNSDPI training that r3.0 is starting to offer again from October 2024, dates until March 2025 are set (see below), registration is possible at https://lnkd.in/eJtdfJGT As the support for the UNSDPI is growing (see below EFRAG, OECD and KPMG press release headlines from UNRISD), join us for one of these updated and upgraded trainings.

r3.0 announces additional #UNSDPI Trainings, now offering opportunities to join from October 2024 up until March 2024 Have you realised that the UNSDPI have now been officially supported by EFRAG, the OECD and by KPMG? Probably not, as the classical ESG consultancies stay quiet. They're not prepared for triple materiality, context-based authentic materiality determinations, and how to start with the UNSDPI as a compass to avoid risk and greenwashing, while staying ready to make qualified sustainability statements and reduce the reporting burden of the interoperability myth. Time to come on board and join the more than 200 experts that already went through the r3.0 UNSDPI Training course? We have enlarged options by offering 6 online trainings (2 half-days each) from now until March 2025. See all option to join and register at: https://lnkd.in/e2T7Vxja. We look forward seeing you there. We accept registrations on a first come-first serve basis and cap participation at 20 participants to ensure interactivity during the modules.

Join r3.0 for one of our Q4/2024 UNSDPI Trainings! The UNSDPI got recently acknowledged by EFRAG as a ‚Robust Tool‘ and ‘Comprehensive Framework’ for fostering a Sustainable and Inclusive Economy’, as well as by the OECD as ‘Key Social Impact Measurement and Management Tool’ for the Social Economy. The big advantages of using the UNSDPI in conjunction with the ESG Progress Standards from GRI, ESRS and ISSB, is to close the circle from 'just ESG' to authentic sustainability, avoiding the danger of greenwashing, increasing the risk management scope through proper context, and allowing better comparability of results for rankings, ratings, indices and benchmarks. More than 200 experts got trained on the UNSDPI since the start of this program in 2023 and 2024 so far, and the now starting season 3 offers a redesigned setup, more interactivity, more practicability beyond the confusion of the interoperability myth created by the standard setters. Join us for this exciting new season and help your 2025 report campaign be clearly contextualised, robust and authentic. Register at: https://lnkd.in/eJtdfJGT

We finished our 11th r3.0 International Conference with an Open Dialog Session one week after the conference. This is a new feature of r3.0 conferencing and was welcomed by all those that attended. Knowing we offer newest and deepest content on areas relevant for collapse resilience we wanted to create time for decompression, digestion and allow thinking what it means to increase readiness for what’s ahead of us! Read more below!
The one-week-post-r3.0 Conference Debrief Session happened today, with about 30 Conference participants re-convening to share our reflections on the reverberations from the Conference. We ran this session in our Open Dialogue format (our 8th such since we launched this approach at the beginning of this year), giving everyone present the opportunity share. You can view the recording here: https://lnkd.in/ee7gdb6b The Session kicked off with an introduction by Ralph Thurm, who then handed over to kaa Faensen to share her graphic visualization summarizing the themes of the event -- I really appreciated how she integrated cross weaving amongst the four different Sessions, revealing the "red thread" that our curation sought to cultivate. Next up, Neil Davidson shared on the Confluence concurrent event that he & Anne Billen of AndNowWhat convened in Belgium in collaboration with the Equinox Collective as a place-based complement to the Conference for collective experiencing and sense-making. We at r3.0 are so excited about the successful piloting of this model for replication in other places around the world for future r3.0 Conferences and events. These set the stage to open the floor to contributions from participants, and of those who were still on the line at the end, I believe all participants had an opportunity to speak. I encourage you to check out this recording, and share your own thoughts here in the comments thread. If you attended the r3.0 Conference, you can share your reflections. If you didn't, you can view the Provocateur Presentations on the Conference Agenda page https://lnkd.in/eebFnBfD and you can view the graphic visualizations for each Session, as well as the Session recordings (for a modest fee) on the Conference Gallery page https://lnkd.in/evmNSKRn Enjoy!

r3.0 announces Season 3 of the UNSDPI Training for 2024/2025 Following the BIG NEWS that EFRAG & the European Union have endorsed the United Nations Sustainable Development Performance Indicators (#UNSDPI as a"robust tool" for authentic sustainability assessments in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (#ESRS) under the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (#CSRD), r3.0 now announces the first three trainings for season 3 (October 2024 to July 2005, October to December 2024 dates now available). Says the Press Release: 'As EFRAG continues to refine its sustainability reporting standards, the role of the UNSDPI as a foundational element of ESG measurement is likely to grow, offering companies a clear path to demonstrate their commitment to sustainable development and responsible business practices. This recognition not only validates the importance of SDPI but also sets a new standard for transparency and accountability in the corporate world.' This statement clarifies that the ESRS in tandem with the UNSDPI now offer companies to leverage from ESRS 'ESG progress' reporting to 'authentic sustainability' reporting, a position r3.0 has taken since the release of the ESRS in 2022 and the start of the UNSDPI Training in January 2023. This statement clarifies that the ESRS in tandem with the UNSDPI now offer companies to leverage from ESRS 'ESG progress' reporting to 'authentic sustainability' reporting, a position r3.0 has taken since the release of the ESRS in 2022 and the start of the UNSDPI Training in January 2023. Season 3 features an update of the curriculum and will continually build in best-in-class application of the combines use of the UNSDPI and the ESRS. All 4 modules will be updated, face-lifted and more interactive than ever. Make sure to reserve your seat early as we are expecting an increased demand for the training.
