60 years of successful MMA production in Wesseling! 🎉   Since the commissioning of the MMA plant in Wesseling in 1964, we have continuously evolved and increased our production tenfold during this time! We are proud of this great development - and especially of our colleagues who live an incredible team spirit every day in the plant and in the lab.   This anniversary was a special occasion for us, which we celebrated with a small family event. On Saturday, family and friends had the opportunity to get an exciting behind-the-scenes look at the control room and discover where our employees work.   Today, as in the past, MMA is a versatile material that is used in numerous industries. Christian doesn't shy away from complicated problems. As the assistant production manager in sulphuric acid production at the Worms site, he enjoys solving technical challenges as part of a team. “I like breaking new ground and exploring new paths from time to time. It brings a good amount of variety to the working day,” he says.   His colleagues appreciate his openness: Christian is receptive to new ideas and doesn’t insist on his point of view. “I support and encourage employees wherever I can,” he adds.His communication style is clear: “If I don’t have an answer to a question, I’ll say so.”   Christian can look back on many years of experience. After training as a chemical technician and working as a plant operator, he completed a part-time degree in process technology. He has been working as assistant production manager since 2020 and particularly enjoys the “pleasant, solution-oriented teamwork in the direct and extended working environment,” he says. “Especially in difficult situations, everyone puts personal interests aside. 🚀🎉 #Azubisgefunden! Am Montag haben rund 60 Nachwuchskräfte ihre Ausbildung bei Röhm begonnen und starten damit in eine spannende Zukunft! An den Standorten Worms, Wesseling, Darmstadt und Hanau werden sie in verschiedenen Berufen ausgebildet – von Chemielaborant:innen über Industriemechaniker:innen bis hin zu Fachinformatiker:innen. Unsere Auszubildenden erwartet nicht nur eine hervorragende fachliche Ausbildung, sondern auch die Vermittlung wichtiger Werte wie Teamarbeit und Verantwortung. Eine intensive Einführungswoche hilft den Azubis, sich zu vernetzen und ihre neuen Teams kennenzulernen. „Wer sich bei uns bewährt, wird bei Röhm definitiv übernommen“, sagt Andreas Ackermann, Leiter der Ausbildung. 🏭 Our PP plant in Wesseling is the heart of our European production for (meth)acrylate binders. Production started in 1982 and consists of three production lines. PP stands for pearl polymerization, a special chemical process in which monomer droplets suspended in water are transformed into solid polymers. ⚗️ Afterwards, water is separated using a centrifuge and product finally dried in a fluidized bed dry. 🌬️🌀 The result are small beads, or as we affectionately call them: Pearls. At Röhm, they are produced based on methyl methacrylate (MMA).   The pearl polymers are marketed under the brand name DEGALAN® and are commonly found in everyday life: as binders forsolvent-based paints and coatings, in road markings, in adhesives, and even in the pharmaceutical and food industry. 🛣️   #röhm #roehm #chemistry #production #reactiveresins #degalan #degadur #degaroute #roadmarkings
