When an India-based seafood exporter was looking to improve cash flow and grow internationally, they decided to partner with Tradewind, which has a deep understanding of the seafood industry and the agility to finance companies in this space. “Our client had worked with other competitors, but after talking with the Tradewind team about their specific business needs, they chose us for our cost-effective pricing, timely support and personalized service. As they grow their business, we are looking forward to growing with them as their trusted financial partner.” The deal was overseen by Srinivas Nair V and Abdul Wakil, based in Tradewind’s India offices. One of the big disruptions to supply chains over the past year, The Red Sea crisis prompted longer transit times, shipping delays and heftier freight costs. It also posed a potential strain to exporters’ cash flow given the longer payment terms asked for by buyers, who were also trying to ride out these obstacles. As we’ve done during other supply chain events, we stepped in to deliver responsive trade finance solutions which would meet our client’s evolving working capital needs during this period. One of our clients in the aluminum industry leveraged our solution to finance their sales on new 90-day credit terms, which had been previously set at 60 days with their European buyer. The added liquidity from Tradewind not only helped the exporter stay competitive, but their buyer could also enjoy longer windows until payment was due.
