🚀 Kicking Off the EIT Manufacturing Program in the Best Possible Way! 🌍🔧 What better way to start an inspiring journey than by connecting in nature On Day 1 of our EIT Manufacturing Partner Program offline Kick-off, we took a scenic hike from Schliersee to Tegernsee—bringing together founders in a relaxed setting to spark first connections and meaningful conversations. 🌳🥾 Fully energized, we then dived into the official Kick-off at the Munich Urban Colab, where an exciting day awaited us! Not only that, but their inverter technology reduces thermal risks, making EVs safer, stronger, and cheaper. A no-brainer for manufacturers. With this funding, they’re gearing up for industrialization - partnering with top players in the two-wheeler and commercial EV sectors to bring their game-changing solution to the masses. Germany’s start-up scene: Challenges & opportunities 🚀 Germany is going through an economically challenging phase, and the political landscape remains uncertain. What does this mean for the start-up ecosystem? Our Managing Partner Dr. Barbara Mehner shares her insights on this important topic: 💡 B2B start-ups, in particular, are feeling the pressure as companies hesitate to invest. Start-ups must demonstrate clear, immediate value to secure customers and funding. 💡 However, challenges also create opportunities. Those who solve real market needs and can pivot effectively will emerge stronger. In Munich, we already see this happening - start-ups that drive essential innovation continue to thrive. 💡 Policy uncertainty, especially around public funding and regulatory changes, makes long-term planning difficult. Stable policies, bold decisions, and targeted investments are crucial. 💡 A major funding gap remains in later-stage financing. Compared to the U.S., Europe invests significantly less in scaling companies. Unlocking institutional capital (e.g., pension funds) for venture investments could be a game-changer. 💡 Stronger industry-start-up collaboration is needed. Many start-ups struggle to connect with decision-makers and navigate bureaucratic hurdles. Focused pilot programs within companies can speed up adoption and create a win-win for both sides. Munich has established itself as a leading Deep-Tech Hub in Europe, with a strong presence in space tech, quantum, climate tech, industrial tech, and AI.
