We are happy to support the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union NABU Burgstaedt in the further expansion of the natural gardens on the apple nature trail in Saxony, Germany. Thanks to our donation, they were able to create an insect paradise on a colourful flower meadow, several insect hotels as well as an herb spiral. Functional textiles like sports clothes and underwear are often made of polyester, polyamide or microfibres. They are used during activities where the natural process of perspiration will always be present. However, due to the composition of the garments, they can only be washed at low temperatures, which usually results in unpleasant odours remaining in the textile. Our latest development in sustainable finishing agents will help prevent this problem: HYDROSET ECO-DRY has been created as a moisture management and anti-odour product for functional textiles, footwear and clothing. By making sure sweat and moisture are transported away from the body to the outer surface of the clothing where it can evaporate, HYDROSET ECO-DRY counteracts odour formation and thus increases wearing comfort. The shareholder families of the Zschimmer & Schwarz Group support important educational, social and environmental projects with a total sum of around 100,000 euros. With this recurring initiative, the company once again underlines its social commitment. It complements the Zschimmer & Schwarz donation campaign, which was launched in 2019 at the suggestion of the shareholders on occasion of the 125th company anniversary. We did it again: Zschimmer & Schwarz participated in the #B2Run Koblenz 2024! Our team of 48 runners from the company’s main site in Lahnstein were joined by 8 more of our colleagues from Lefatex Chemie GmbH and Ursa-Chemie GmbH. As the pictures show, some of us were quite ambitious, and everyone was enjoying themselves a lot! A big THANK YOU to our team captains Cristina Steffens and Elena Siebrecht, who have been organising our participation in this event. They not only took care of the registration but also made sure our team and supporters were provided with drinks and snacks at the team tent and had a great time both during the run and at the after-run party. 🥳 In addition to being a great sporting achievement and lots of fun for us, the run also served a good cause: Zschimmer & Schwarz donated 5 € per runner to DKMS Group. We are happy to thus contribute to the fight against blood cancer and proud for being awarded as the company with the highest donation and the biggest team of 56 “Charity Starters” in this event – for the second time in a row! To further strengthen our position as a leading supplier of ceramic additives on the Egyptian market, Zschimmer & Schwarz has built a new, state-of-the-art production plant in Egypt. It replaces our previous Egyptian production facility, which we operated in Belbeis for about 14 years. The new production site of our subsidiary Zschimmer & Schwarz Egypt Chemicals is located in the city of 10th of Ramadan, about 60 kilometres east of Cairo. With the relocation and new building, we have created a modern and future-oriented production site for our Egyptian subsidiary.   At the opening ceremony, the management of Zschimmer & Schwarz welcomed numerous high-profile guests from politics, business and associations as well as important business partners.
