Water Operators' Partnerships (WOPs) are not just capacity building projects – they are so much more. But what makes them successful? How do you achieve not only good results but also a successful partnership? 🌍 🚰 ☔ After more than three years of successful cooperation, the 2nd phase of our Water Operators` Partnership with Jordan Water Company "Miyahuna" and hanseWasser Bremen GmbH started officially this week with the kickoff in Amman. In the frame of the Strong Water Utilities Project of GIZ Jordan and the Utility Platform, we developed jointly a draft action plan in the following areas of cooperation: 1. Wastewater and Sludge treatment 2. Lab Twinning (exchange between the laboratories) 3. Sewer System 4. Hamburg steht still 💛💙 Auch drei Jahre nach Beginn der russischen Invasion herrscht Krieg in Europa. Gemeinsam mit dem Verein Mensch Hamburg e.V rufen wir daher zu diesem Anlass zu einer Gedenkminute für Frieden in der #Ukraine und weltweit auf. 🕊 Auch wenn eine Gedenkminute keinen Krieg beenden kann, sie setzt ein klares Zeichen: Unser Mitgefühl gilt den Opfern und ihren Angehörigen. Als Trinkwasserversorger und Abwasserentsorger wissen wir wie wichtig diese kritischen Prozesse für das tägliche Leben sind. Seit 2022 unterstützen wir Kolleginnen und Kollegen von Kyivvodokanal, dem Wasser- und Abwasserunternehmen aus der ukrainischen Hauptstadt, um die Versorgungssituation in der Ukraine zu verbessern. Sauberes Wasser aus der Leitung, zu jeder Tages- und Nachtzeit, ist für die Menschen in Kyjiw seit dem großflächigen Angriffskrieg Russlands keine Selbstverständlichkeit mehr. Mit unserem Engagement für Kyjiw möchten wir einen Beitrag leisten, die Situation vor Ort zu verbessern und dabei zu helfen, die Menschen vor Ort bestmöglich mit Trinkwasser zu beliefern. Die Betreiberpartnerschaft ist Teil des Hamburger Paktes für Solidarität und Zukunft, ein Städte-Bündnis zur Unterstützung der ukrainischen Hauptstadt Kiew, sie wird vom Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) finanziert.
