Rebranding event #WestfieldRuhrPark – we are still thrilled about the rebranding event last week. The shopping and leisure destination in Bochum is now part of the Westfield network of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield in Germany. And just in time for the 60th anniversary of the centre. The big highlight of the rebranding event was the concert by singer-songwriter #NicoSantos. The 31-year-old Nico Santos performed his greatest hits in front of 3,000 fans who had successfully taken part in a ticket draw. The evening concluded with a spectacular show in which the old logo was ceremoniously replaced by the new one. Over the weekend, the centre welcomed the local community with even more promotions and activations. Westfield Ruhr Park is now one of the 39 Westfield flagship destinations in the US and Europe, a unique platform of the best shopping and lifestyle destinations that stand for exceptional brand and concept mixes, exciting brand experiences, emotional events, and marketing campaigns, as well as industry-leading services and sustainability standards. The concert with Nico Santos is impressive proof of the appeal of the Westfield brand. Once again, we would like to thank all our guests, partners and the entire Westfield Ruhr Park community for the fantastic event. In the 60th anniversary year, URW is crowning the success story of one of the largest shopping and leisure destinations in Germany: Westfield Ruhr Park will be the third destination in Germany to bear the internationally renowned Westfield brand name, alongside Westfield Centro in Oberhausen and the development project Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier. The new brand name is associated with a quality concept that sets standards in the areas of lifestyle, shopping, dining and leisure activities. The rebranding took place on September 26, as part of a major event, matching the 60th anniversary of the centre, which was opened in 1964. The big highlight of the rebranding event was the concert by singer-songwriter #NicoSantos. The 31-year-old Nico Santos performed his greatest hits in front of 3,000 fans who had successfully taken part in a ticket draw. The smell of a barbecue, good food and a great atmosphere: our guests could experience an exciting and entertaining programme and delicious food at the Sizzle - the BBQ Festival.Ruhr at Westfield Centro from July 5th to 14th. Thanks to our cooperation partners Flammkraft who provided two great barbecues where, among others, the barbecue masters Sabine Goldemann and Christian Homrighausen showed in their live grillshows great recipes for the BBQ lovers to grill at home. The entertaining supporting programme consisting of BBQ shows with well-known chefs from the barbecue scene, such as Alex Landgraf and many other well-known grillmasters, live music performances by bands on stage and two fire shows created a great atmosphere at the event. Highlights: 🥩 Live barbecue show 🎶 Live music from bands and DJs ✨ Live LED shows 🔥 Live fire show 🍔🍡Various food stands Of course, one thing could not be missing this year: As the BBQ festival started to coincide with the start of the quarter finals of the European Football Championship ⚽️, every football match was broadcast as a major highlight from the quarter finals to the final. Visitors were also able to try out delicious barbecue highlights for themselves at various food stands around the event. From Spanish specialities to burgers, steaks and sweet dishes, there was something for every taste. EVENT: Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Germany celebrates the kick-off to an exciting year for #RuhrPark in Bochum. We hosted a B2B event with more than 100 guests from retail, dining, entertainment and partners from the city to share and discuss our thrilling future plans for the destination! There's a lot coming up at Ruhr Park this year. – 2024 is a special year: Ruhr Park is celebrating its 60th anniversary and looks back on an impressive history. As one of the oldest shopping centers in Germany, Ruhr Park has enjoyed an impressive development and is now widely considered as one of the strongest and most attractive shopping and leisure destinations in Germany. – Westfield comes to Ruhr Park: In September, Ruhr Park will be rebranded as #WestfieldRuhrPark. With the new name and the Westfield brand, quality of the destination will be upgraded to new standards in the fields of lifestyle, shopping, dining and leisure activities. For example, our new leisure partner, Boda Borg Germany, was also presented at the B2B event. Guests had the opportunity to experience the unique Questing Experience live on an area of more than 3,000 sqm - an absolute first in Germany. There are also plans to reinvent and redesign the dining area: with a new dining world, high-quality design and innovative concepts inspired by the nearby forests and nature. The project will start in 2025. We discussed all these exciting topics with our guests. A welcome address was given by Paul Douay, Director of Operations Austria & Germany as well as Ruhr Park’s first developer, Peter Fuhrmann. In addition, a key highlight of the day was a panel discussion with Steven Sarwar (The Ash), Kiki Aweimer (Kikis Kitchen), Jan Krimphove (Boda Borg), Juergen Knoth (Bochum Wirtschaftsentwicklung), as well as Constantin W.
