We're proud to be part of an innovative project aimed at revolutionizing cancer care by detecting vulnerable patients earlier 🌟 Led by the esteemed cancer researcher, Susanne Dalton, and in collaboration with the Danish Research Center for Equality in Cancer (COMPAS), Region Sjælland, Daman, and Pfizer this innovative public-private partnership aims to improve cancer care quality and tackle care inequality, ensuring equal treatment access for all patients, especially the vulnerable. The project targets the significant health disparities in Denmark, focusing on early detection and improved treatment pathways for urologic cancer in Region Zealand. The initiative recognizes that vulnerability comes in various forms and emphasizes the importance of equal access to quality cancer care for all individuals. The research aligns with the Danish government’s ambition to reduce health inequality, as recently highlighted by the Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen. The researchers will finalize a screening tool, which will then be tested on patients by being included in the MDT conferences in the urological field throughout Region Zealand. Afterwards, the tool will be tested nationally to ensure the best possible implementation if the researchers can find an effect on completion of planned treatment, quality of life, participation in rehabilitation and timely palliation. Last week, we had the privilege to capture the powerful stories of young people with cancer for the YouthCancerForces app (UngeKræfter) in Aarhus. 🎥💪 Their bravery in sharing their journeys, despite the challenges, was truly inspiring. It was a reminder of our goal to connect young people battling cancer, offering them a platform for support and inspiration. A big shout-out to the participants and our collaborators Helle Pappot, Maria Aagesen and Line Bentsen for making this possible. Together, we're not just sharing stories; we're building a supportive community for every young person facing cancer in Denmark - and hopefully soon beyond. Let's keep the conversation going. Your story could be the beacon of hope for someone out there. 💖 #YouthCancerForces #UngeKræfter #CancerAwareness #Empowerment #CommunitySupport #PatientCentricity #CoCreation
