🚀 Breaking News: Introducing Health Tech Pathways 🚀 We’re thrilled to announce a new, major project in the works: Health Tech Pathways - an AI-powered platform designed to help Nordic #healthtech startups navigate the regulatory approval process faster and more cost-effectively. With a generous DKK 32 million from the Novo Nordisk Foundation over five years, we’re building a platform that will transform how health tech startups approach certification in the EU and the U.S., significantly reducing both the costs and timelines associated with obtaining approvals. Health tech startups face the hurdle of lengthy and complex regulatory approval processes delaying their ability to bring innovative solutions to market. 🌍 Exploring the Spanish #healthcare ecosystem As part of our mission at Health Tech Hub Copenhagen to support member startups in their global scaling journey, we recently took nine Danish #healthtech startups on a fully-funded market visit to Bilbao, Spain. In collaboration with Talent Garden, PwC, and BAT B Accelerator Tower, this visit provided an incredible opportunity to explore the Spanish healthcare ecosystem and connect with key stakeholders. Participating Companies: Visikon – Empowering healthcare professionals to educate patients through technology, clinical expertise, and captivating storytelling. NordInsight – A comprehensive, secure implant database to help radiographers and radiologists make quick, confident MRI safety decisions. Monsenso – Mobile and web-based platforms for mental health support, offering tools for individuals and clinicians to manage and monitor patient care. Liva Healthcare – Empowers patients to manage chronic conditions through digital lifestyle and health coaching. Line Systems – A comprehensive platform for diabetes-related data collection and visualisation to support healthcare providers. Heka VR – Using Virtual Reality (VR) to provide a new immersive therapy for people suffering from treatment resistant schizophrenia. Corti – Augmenting healthcare interactions with AI products that support decision-making, documentation, coding, and coaching for health professionals. Cortrium – Providing a long-term ECG solution combining innovative hardware, advanced algorithms, and human expertise for recording and reporting. CEREBRIU – Real-time detection and exclusion of brain pathologies while patients are in the MR scanner. Our Key Takeaways: 🔴 This visit underscored the value of cross-border dialogue—essential for scaling and knowledge exchange in the healthcare and health tech ecosystems. 🔴 We gained insights from five hospitals, a global pharmaceutical company, and a patient organization, creating valuable new opportunities. 🔴 The experience provided a fast, efficient pathway for our startups to explore the Spanish market, uncovering leads and forming strong connections. 🚀 Insights from a Unique Panel on Digital Health for All 🚀 At yesterday’s “Equal and Proximate Healthcare for All—When?” panel at Digital Tech Summit, we tackled some of the biggest challenges and opportunities in health tech adoption. The panel, hosted by IDA, set the stage with powerful patient stories to kick off each discussion. These real-life challenges, accompanied with the national perspectives brought to the stage by patient organisations Epilepsiforeningen and Psykiatrifonden, were a powerful reminder of the urgency behind every tech solution and inspired our panelists to dig deep into practical, impact-driven insights. Big thanks to our expert moderator, Mads Koch Hansen, for leading this conversation with empathy and purpose, and to our incredible panelists -Lisbeth Nielsen, Laura Klitgaard, Jesper Grønbæk, Torben Hollmann and Christoffer Aagaard Melson- who each added a highly relevant perspective to topics of accessibility, innovation, and transformation in healthcare. Our Top Takeaways: 💡Breaking Through Red Tape: Current legislation and "risk-aversion" still hinder adoption of tech that can genuinely improve lives. Many hesitate to innovate for fear of controversy, even if it means delaying life-saving solutions. 💡Prescribing Digital Health: Digital tools should become as standard as prescriptions. This reimagines how we approach chronic care, and as Jesper mentioned, is an area where Denmark is lagging behind. 💡Solving Practical Challenges for Multimorbid Patients: From low-tech approaches to integrated digital tools, the panelists emphasized practical, scalable tech that can streamline care coordination for patients with multiple conditions. 💡Building the Right Ecosystem: Christoffer highlighted the need for a “one-stop-shop” for municipalities, ensuring easy access to the right health tech solutions, that would also bring on a transformation of how startups reach public health sectors. 💡Looking Forward: As Laura noted, we must bridge the gap between healthcare and tech across every level, ensuring innovation isn’t just a buzzword but a practical reality. This is the frontier where startups can make an incredible impact—driving meaningful, scalable solutions in the health sector.
