DFDS awarded extended contract with Danish Defence ⛴ We are proud to announce that we have entered into a contract with the Danish Defence which means that we will provide freight ferries to transport military equipment and other commodities for military operations, missions, training exercises, humanitarian disaster relief situations and routine transports 🚑 🦺   The contract extends the scope of our current contract and starts in 2026, running for up to six years.    “We are honoured to have been selected for this critical assignment, and I am proud that we will continue our longstanding cooperation with The Danish Defence and the ARK project. The UK flag is raised on the Tarifa Jet, in advance of redeployment to Jersey Routes 🇬🇧 Today was a very special day in DFDS as we raised the Red Ensign bringing Tarifa Jet onto the UK Ship Register ⛴️ Gemma Griffin MBE, Vice President & Head of Global Crewing says: “We are very proud to be growing the number of vessels DFDS have under UK Flag. We have a long history with the UK Ship Register and have proudly flown the Red Ensign on our fleet operating the Dover – Dunkerque route since it started 25 years ago. Our thanks go to all the team at the Maritime and Coastguard Agency for their fantastic support and collaboration during the re-flagging process”. Maritime Minister Mike Kane says: “The UK is a rich maritime nation, and our Flag continues to signal global excellence in shipping standards. It’s great to see DFDS continue to increase the number of vessels they have flying the Red Ensign and I’m grateful to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency for supporting them as part of the re-flagging process”. Growing the UK flag also means we get to create more employment and training opportunities. “We look forward to welcoming many new colleagues on the Jersey routes and investing in a new cohort of UK Apprentices and Cadets in the school year of 2025/26,” says Gemma 👏 Tarifa Jet will take her maiden voyage on the Jersey – St. Malo route on 28th March and Levante Jet will also be re-flagged to UK Flag prior to her deployment on Jersey – Poole Route on the 17th April 🌊 #DFDS #WeMoveForAllToGrow #UKflag

Our 2024 annual report is out! Looking back, 2024 was marked by progress on many fronts:     🫱🏽🫲🏼 We achieved organic growth, and customer satisfaction improved further.     🚛  We expanded our network notably in the Strait of Gibraltar and with the international network of Türkiye-based Ekol Logistics.    ⛴ We were awarded a 20-year contract to provide ferry services to Jersey in the Channel Islands.   But 2024 also turned out to be a more challenging year than we had anticipated, and our financial results fell short of our expectations.     As we are moving forward, 2025 will be a transitional year where we will lay the foundation for improving our financial performance by building on our strong network and continue to protect and grow our business.     👉🏾 Read more in our annual report here: https://lnkd.in/eUtKsVSQ   #DFDS #WeMoveForAllToGrow #AnnualReport #Q4

Take a tour of our state-of-the-art warehouse in Borås, Sweden!   Opened in 2022, this warehouse is a key part of the strategic expand of our logistics services in the Nordics 🌍 “We have grown significantly since the opening of the warehouse. 1,5 years ago, we were just 10 colleagues, now, we are 45,” says Johan Svensson, General Manager.    With 34.500 m2 of storage space, we serve customers in the fast-moving consumer goods and retail sectors 🚛   “Our focus is on evolving our business and customer relations, while ensuring that we have a great workplace for our employees,” says Johan 🫱🏽🫲🏼   One of our dedicated warehouse workers is Catarina Johnson. A road trip across Denmark led Sara to DFDS 🛣️    In our #DFDSJourneys series, we highlight diverse career paths within DFDS. Let’s explore Sara’s journey👇   Her journey began when she booked a seat in a rideshare-car across Denmark, where she met a DFDS employee 🚘 Initially, Sara's knowledge about DFDS was that we operated the Oslo ferry and not much else, but 3 hours later, her curiosity about DFDS was piqued 💡   Soon after, she applied for a Project Manager position in the Smart Data Team. Her talent quickly earned her a promotion to Team Lead, and she was selected for our Horizon talent programme.   “It was an amazing experience, where I learned more about our business, met amazing colleagues across our network and learned a lot about myself in the process too,” says Sara.    Last year, Sara advanced to Head of Analytics. As she approaches her 5-year anniversary at DFDS, she’s preparing for another exciting career move. Soon, she will make the jump from Copenhagen to Ghent to take on the role of Route Director 🌍    Congratulations to Sara on her great journey so far! Team spirit at its best - introducing the Oxygen Team 💪🏽   When it comes to exceptional teamwork, the Oxygen Team in Istanbul sets the bar high. Responsible for three mobile apps, they excel not only professionally but also in fostering a fantastic team spirit ✨   “We believe that success is built on clear expectations, mutual respect, and continuous improvement,” says Gorkem K., Mobile Chapter Lead.   The team is all about having fun while growing together and they have formed friendships that extend beyond the workplace.   Recently, they hosted a Feedback Bingo session, encouraging team members to share their thoughts and provide feedback in a positive, collaborative environment 💬   Here are the three mobile apps they manage: ⛴ Ferries & Terminals - Optimises terminal and onboard service experiences for freight drivers. 🚛 Logistics Drivers - Assists logistics drivers with daily tasks and enhances cargo tracking capabilities. 👩🏼🦰 Passenger - Personalises experiences throughout the passenger journey.   “We believe that understanding our users in their real-world contexts is key to delivering exceptional experiences.
