Freight Manager Poland & Eastern Europe w P&O Ferries

Happy 187th birthday P&O! 🎉 Did you know? 👉 The Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation company (P&O) was founded by Brodie McGhie Willcox and Arthur Anderson during a period of intense international change, just as steam-driven ships were beginning to replace traditional sailings vessels. Over the next 180+ years, the name P&O became synonymous for speed, reliability and good taste. From our beginnings in 1837, millions of passengers and trucks have travelled on P&O ships. 👉 Today P&O is a leading pan-European ferry and logistics group and a part of DP World, the leading provider of end-to-end logistic solutions and enabler of the flow of trade across the globe. P&O Ferries is a major provider of freight transport and passenger travel services, sailing on seven major routes between Great Britain, France, Northern Ireland, Netherlands and Belgium. But the best is yet to come! The 187 years of P&O history reminds me of the quote by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: "If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea". I'm proud to be part of the story and great team of people driven by love for shipping, logistics and transportation. Waste management and #recycling is something we take very seriously as a key element of our #sustainability approach. In this video, made with our waste management partner Veolia UK, our Sustainability Manager Andrew Stevens and Public Health & Food Safety Manager Steve Brown explain how we have worked together to improve our recycling abilities for those travelling onboard our ships.

We’ve been working in partnership with P&O Ferries for the past 20 years, in which time the recycling and waste industry has changed immensely. Just think how your own recycling and waste habits have changed over the last two decades and you can imagine how waste management has evolved for businesses in that time! We’ve helped P&O achieve a 50% recycling rate and introduced hard-to-recycle material streams like coffee cups and textiles, helping them evolve their approach to regenerating resources. For a major provider of international travel services with over 10 million passengers a year, reducing the impact of their waste has been crucial to helping them achieve their sustainability goals, so we hopped on board to find out more 👇 https://lnkd.in/es7sqHEU #RegeneratingResources #SustainableTravel #EcologicalTransformation

Ports Director- Larne, Cairnryan, Teesport & Tilbury & Larne Harbour Ltd

Larne Port is so much more than a ferry port! It is already the port of choice for many project cargoes, particularly those associated with the offshore and renewables sector. The port can accommodate a range of projects, including jacking up on the deep water berth’s firm sea bed. Larne Port can handle cruise vessels up to 180m. We are flexible in our approach and responsive to the customers needs.

It’s good to see #LarneHarbour busy and nice to be invited to take some photos at the weekend to show the various vessel types the port can handle… P&O Ferries’ Norbay and European Highlander; Hebridean Island Cruises Ltd’s Hebridean Princess; MPI Offshore’s MPI Adventure and (at anchor) The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company’s Arrow. #shipping #photography

🚢 Investing to support New Hybrid Ships at Dover: P&O Liberté and P&O Pioneer 🌊 Collaborating closely with P&O Ferries on the design of these vessels ensured they fit perfectly within our existing berths. The Port also made necessary modifications to the moorings to accommodate the new ships, demonstrating our proactive approach to innovation. On Friday, 12th July, P&O Ferries named the second of their newest hybrid ships, P&O Liberté, during an event hosted at the Port of Dover Cruise Terminal. Capable of reducing carbon emissions by up to 40% per trip, we seamlessly integrated the new ferries with our existing port operations, exemplifying our commitment to sustainability and operational excellence at the Port of Dover and to making strategic investments that support our ferry operators. 🤝 #PortOfDover #POFerries #HybridShips #Sustainability #MaritimeIndustry

P&O Ferries was delighted to host the naming ceremony of our newest hybrid ship, P&O Liberté, last week and welcome our valued stakeholders, supporters and employees. Her Godmother, P&O Ferries cadet Katrina B., did a fantastic job of naming the ship and we were honoured to welcome former UAE Economy Minister and DP World Board Member, H.E. Sultan bin Saeed AlMansoori as our keynote speaker. P&O Liberté and P&O Pioneer are a new class of vessel on the English Channel, with hybrid capability which allows them to reduce carbon emissions by up to 40% per trip. They also represent a new class of travel for our freight and leisure passengers alike. A huge thanks to all who attended and to those who helped make the event a success, wishing P&O Liberté well on her future voyages.
