🚀 Two years on, Melatech’s trajectory showcases the impact of BETA. HEALTH’s ‘accelerator programme’! It started with Niels Kvorning Ternov, a doctor at Herlev og Gentofte Hospital, and his vision of a ‘dermatologist on demand’ to assist GPs in diagnosing and treating skin conditions. Today, that vision has evolved into a software company dedicated to education and clinical management across healthcare sectors. Melatech’s initial project, Dermloop, was one of the first recipients of a BETA. HEALTH grant – and the support of our innovation experts. Dermloop is currently launching across all five Danish regions and expanding into the United States and other countries. Watch the video to hear from Niels as he shares his experience with the BETA. 🚀 BETA. HEALTH’s Ambassador Network aims to make innovation culture a part of life ‘on the ward’! 🏥 The Network consists of 10 ambassadors with a range of competences and areas of knowledge – and one important thing in common: each has a passion for expanding innovation in their personal work and within their departments and the hospital as a whole. The group met last week to discuss innovation leadership and culture. Jacob Brix, a professor of innovation and management at Aalborg University and Business School – and author of two books on innovation management and culture – used his expertise to ignite the day’s discussion. He highlighted that “What took you here, won’t take you there.” – making it clear that new mindsets and leadership skills are essential to addressing current and future challenges within the healthcare system. 🤝 One thing was evident: The ambassadors see plenty of opportunities to create value through sharing, collaboration and sparring!  The Network will meet 4–5 times per year to address barriers to innovation and develop initiatives to enhance innovation competencies. By fostering a culture of innovation within their departments, the ambassadors believe the Network can serve as a catalyst for advancing innovation throughout the hospital. 📅 The Ambassador Network will meet again in November.

🚀 BETA. HEALTH isn’t just about funding – we empower clinicians & researchers to become entrepreneurs! Last week, 𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐀. 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 ‘𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭’ hosted a masterclass as part of our 'accelerator programme’ for the six innovative project teams who received 𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐀.05 grants this past spring. The focus? HEALTH alumna Ida Grønborg as one of the ‘25 female entrepreneurs you should know in 2024’!   Ida is a biologist, PhD, and co-founder of Cacto Health, which received a BETA.05 grant this past spring for the ‘MyLymphCare’ project. Cacto Health aims to transform post-cancer care with an early-detection device that empowers breast cancer survivors to self-monitor lymphedema at home.
