Meet a #Navigator – Kurt Jensen 🧭 “I wasn’t actively looking for a new job, but when I read the job posting, I realized—it was 100% me. 100% corporate customers, 100% credit.” ⚡ Kurt’s banking career spans over five decades, beginning in 1980 at what is now Nordea. His journey took him across the world—from Singapore, where he managed corporate clients in the Far East, to New York, where he lived 34 floors above Broadway, handling clients across North America. He later worked in Latvia and Poland before returning to Denmark. In 2007, he moved into real estate—right before the financial crisis hit. In 2008 he moved to the government-run institution Financial Stability in charge of closing troubled banks, where he primarily dealt with the closing of Roskilde Bank. “After years of bringing in customers, I suddenly found myself on the other side—helping move clients out of a collapsed bank. It was a unique and humbling experience.” 💥 Following 11 years in Lån & Spar Bank’s credit department, Kurt assumed he’d retire there—until, in 2024, a headhunter from kompasbank reached out. Despite initial doubts about the commute, he quickly embraced the new routine and found joy in the flexibility of a dynamic, fast-moving environment. “Starting a new job at 65 wasn’t necessarily the plan, but age is just a number, and I have no interest in slowing down yet. Stepping into kompasbank also meant moving from Microsoft to Apple and Google all at once—but challenging yourself is how you keep life exciting.” 🚀📈 As part of the Credit team, Kurt collaborates with Business Advisors to tailor financing solutions to customers' needs. He thrives on seeing the direct impact of his work—both in securing deals for the bank and in supporting his colleagues' success. “The best part of my job is delivering good news. Finding solutions to customers' needs together with our Business Advisors, knowing they’ll go back to the customers with something positive – that’s what drives me.” 💜 Outside the office 🏃🌿 Kurt is a former marathon runner and running coach, with a whooping 8 marathons under his belt, and still enjoys spending time on the running trails. He’s also passionate about nature and serves on the board of the Danish Society for Nature Conservation in Køge. Whether he’s hitting the trails, advocating for the environment, or guiding businesses toward success, Kurt proves that ambition has no expiration date.

Meet a #Navigator – Kristian 🧭 🦁🐐🔥 🧭 “I was drawn to the opportunity to build something new and work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. At the same time, I wanted to be part of the movement to challenge and rethink the traditional banking world. At kompasbank, you’re not just a small cog in a big machine—you get the chance to take ownership, grow, and make a real impact.” ⚡ Kristian joined kompasbank as a student assistant in May 2023 and transitioned into a full-time role after completing his master’s degree in law. With prior experience at larger organizations like Nordea, Arbejdernes Landsbank, and Deloitte, he initially wondered if a smaller organization would be the right fit. However, he quickly embraced the fast-paced, hands-on environment. 💥 “In bigger companies, progress can be slow. At kompasbank, you’re trusted to take the lead and run with it. It’s both challenging and rewarding, and you get to collaborate closely with everyone—from C-level executives, BoD members and investors worldwide, to tech experts and some of the brightest minds in commercial development and finance.” 💜 As part of a small team, Kristian’s days are anything but routine. On a daily basis, he supports Vendor Management, TxB, Compliance, and CX & Growth with commercial and vendor contract reviews, negotiations, governance, and regulatory affairs. He is also part of the Investor Relations team, focusing on capital increases and fundraising, and works with Marketing to ensure regulatory alignment across all efforts. "Running a bank means staying ahead of the regulations. Without a strong legal foundation, we can’t grow sustainably, create new products, or enter new markets. My role is to support each department in navigating the rules while also helping identify how these regulations can create opportunities for the business." 🚀📈 When Kristian isn’t tackling legal challenges, you’ll often find him playing football, skiing, cycling, or traveling. As a passionate F.C. København fan, he rarely misses a home game and occasionally joins away matches.
