One year ago, the "Maritime Day" event was introduced by Maritime DTU and ShippingLab in response to the maritime industry's demand for more engineers. Maritime Day serves a crucial role in raising awareness about the opportunities within Blue Denmark. The event not only demonstrates to students the range of scientific fields required in the industry but also highlights the interest and readiness of students to meet the challenges of a maritime career. Last Friday, the 3rd Maritime Day was successfully held and organised by ShippingLab, in collaboration with Maritime DTU, Maskinmesterskolen København, Danske Maritime (Danish Maritime), and Danish Shipping. The event brought together 120 students from DTU - Technical University of Denmark and Maskinmesterskolen København to meet with the industry representatives of over 20 companies. These companies showcased their positions in the market and discussed potential opportunities for thesis projects and student jobs. With growing interest, attendance, and motivation from both students and companies, Maritime Day is set to become a regular fixture as a part of our ultimate purpose: the growth of Denmark’s maritime industry and its advance in green transition, all while inspiring and cultivating the next generation of maritime talent ready to lead the industry into a bright future. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and trusted in organizing this event and helping to increase its impact, including A.P. Moller - Maersk, Alfa Laval Aalborg, Copenhagen Merchants , Danske Maritime (Danish Maritime), DASPOS A/S Fire Safety - Fire Prevention - Fuel Leakage detection, DEIF, DFDS, Emerson, G&O Maritime Group, KNUD E. HANSEN, MAN Energy Solutions, DS NORDEN, NORDIC MARINE PARTNER, OMT - Odense Maritime Technology , OSK Design, RINA North America (formerly Patrick), Rohde Nielsen , Søværnets Officersskole, Danish Technological Institute, Vessel Performance Solutions, Wärtsilä. A special thanks to DS NORDEN for their support, and to everyone involved in making this event a success.

Last week, students interested in the maritime industry had yet another incredible opportunity to connect with industry leaders at SMM Hamburg which hosted more than 2200 companies this year. Around 130 students made the trip to explore the Danish "Pavilion", where they engaged with numerous Danish maritime companies. This event offered invaluable insights into the forefront of the industry and allowed students to network with key players, further strengthening their understanding of the vibrant maritime sector. On the trip, there were also present the Danske Maritime (Danish Maritime) and Danish Shipping. It was delivered with the support of ShippingLab and Danish Export Association. Lastly, a special thanks to DS NORDEN which made this trip possible through a generous donation. Key industry leaders like Hapag-Lloyd AG, RINA, MMG - Mecklenburger Metallguss GmbH, MAN Energy Solutions, and Ballard Power Systems delivered insightful presentations to the young audience, offering them a firsthand look at today's challenges as green transition, innovation, and opportunities within the maritime sector.
