🌙 New peer reviewed article online: Automatic sleep staging based on 24/7 EEG SubQ (UNEEG medical) data displays strong agreement with polysomnography in healthy adults 🌙 At T&W Engineering A/S, we’re proud to announce a significant milestone in collaboration with UNEEG medical A/S. Our work on automatic sleep staging using 24/7 subcutaneous EEG (sqEEG) technology has demonstrated excellent results, matching the accuracy of traditional polysomnography (PSG). Key Outcomes: * Our deep learning model, U-SleepSQ, achieved a high Cohen’s kappa (κ) of 0.84, showcasing strong agreement with manual PSG scoring. * The system allows for ultra-long-term sleep monitoring, enabling continuous data collection for up to 365 days in real-world, home environments. * The minimally invasive sqEEG device, implanted behind the ear, offers a practical solution for capturing accurate, day-to-day sleep patterns. This development represents a step forward in ultra long-term sleep research by enabling extended, real-world monitoring of day-to-day variations in sleep. Daytime sleepiness is a significant and often debilitating symptom for patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). Monitoring this symptom through EEG not only provides critical insights into the patient's condition but also helps in evaluating the effectiveness of treatments like CPAP therapy. #InnoSleep (https://lnkd.in/dhwmFdcr) a research and innovation project on sleep apnea, involving Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish partners, aims to accelerate knowledge on sleep apnea treatment, focusing on innovative technologies and personalized care. A key goal is to create and implement a standardized assessment plan to ensure more patients receive and maintain effective treatment. At T&W Engineering A/S, our mission is to develop and produce solutions that enable patients to manage brain-related conditions from the comfort of their own homes. Yesterday we presented our #NeuroBuds and latest clinical insights using ear-EEG and subcutaneous EEG at the Digital Biomarkers in Clinical Trials Summit hosted by PanAgora Pharma at Roche. Together with UNEEG medical A/S we showcased our groundbreaking Ultra-Long Term Sleep study (365 nights of EEG) and study on epileptiform discharges in Alzheimer’s Disease. Our Senior Data Scientist, Esben Ahrens, alongside CSO, Rasmus Elsborg Madsen, presented key findings and highlights: 🔍 Key Highlights: * Demonstrated an average adherence rate of 90% over a year (365 sleep recordings) with UNEEG medical A/S innovative 24/7 EEG SubQ system. * Discussed L-SeqSleepNet, an advanced AI model for automatic sleep staging of ear-EEG. * Highlighted the potential of long-term EEG monitoring to detect epileptiform discharges, crucial for enhancing treatment strategies in Alzheimer’s Disease.
