We were honoured to welcome representatives from Regulatory Authority Bermuda and Ricardo plc to our assembly area in Gran Canaria. This visit marks a significant step towards Bermuda’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality and energy independence. With Ricardo's expertise, the team is exploring the potential of wave energy 🌊 and Wavepiston technology. We engaged in insightful discussions addressing critical questions about wave energy's role in Bermuda's future energy landscape. In the short term, wind and solar energy, complemented by storage solutions, offer promising options for the island. Looking ahead, wave energy presents a viable, complementary renewable energy source for island communities like Bermuda. We eagerly anticipate continuing our discussions and hope to bring wave energy solutions to Bermuda for both power generation ⚡ and desalination 🚰 in the near future. 'The best helmsmen are on shore', but not at Wavepiston... 😉 Yesterday, Steen Grønkjær Thomsen and Emiel Schut had the honor of visiting Francesco Ferri at Aalborg University. Francesco demonstrated the different wave tank tests that he is performing as part of the COHSI-WEC project and patiently answered all our questions. He is doing this tremendous work together with his colleague Jacob Andersen. Thank you for your warm welcome and allowing us to play in the pool! Partners in the project are: Aalborg University, DTU - Technical University of Denmark and Wavepiston. This project has received funding from the EUDP - Det Energiteknologiske Udviklings- og Demonstrationsprogram.

On 26th September, Michael Henriksen and Emiel Schut joined the Danish Industry Topmøde in Copenhagen. An excellent opportunity to engage with a wide selection of the Danish industry and politicians, and spread the love for Wavepiston. Great discussions and inspiring presentations on the pivotal role of Danish companies in today’s dynamic landscape. And, how they can enhance their presence in Europe and global markets while addressing potential challenges head-on.

Today Michael Henriksen and Emiel Schut had the pleasure of pitching at the Danish Business Angels - DanBAN event hosted by Nykredit in Nordhavn.
