It's a bit funny to find ourselves on billboard, but here we are.

We are pleased to announce that Kadi Tilk has joined our team as Senior Researcher! Kadi is an experienced molecular biologist and a fine addition to our team. She has worked both in academia and in a private company before and now brings her experience to Gearbox Biosciences.

We are thrilled to have Michael Miller join Gearbox Biosciences as an advisor! Michael has collaborated to develop small molecules, proteins and organisms for applications ranging from commodity chemicals to performance enzymes and, most recently, pharmaceuticals. He has 17 years of industry experience developing and using state-of-the-art technology to address real-world commercial needs. He brings technical depth in host improvement, enzyme engineering and process development along with practical experience in R&D team management and external technology sourcing. Michael is currently an independent consultant and has worked in technology leadership roles at Genencor/DuPont/IFF and Codexis, Inc.. He earned his PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from U.C. Berkeley and was a postdoctoral fellow in microbial genomics at Stanford University.

We got noticed.

We are delighted to welcome Simon Trancart to Gearbox Biosciences as an advisor! Simon started his career at the engineering company Fives, where he served different roles in Brazil and France within the sugar and bioenergies division. He transitioned into biotechnologies in 2013, launching a company focused on the adaptive evolution of microorganisms using a technology developed in collaboration with CEA. This technology, under the banner of Heurisko, was deployed at R&D centers of several companies across three continents. In 2017, Simon co-founded Altar and established facilities at the biocluster Genopole in France, where the company developed and operated adaptive evolution technologies for various industries. Following Altar’s acquisition by Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. in October 2022, Simon now serves as the Head of Adaptive Laboratory Evolution at Ginkgo Bioworks. He earned diplomas from Ecole Centrale Paris (France) and Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil).
