شارك المركز الإقليمي للطاقة المتجددة وكفاءة الطاقة في أشغال منتدى التنمية الخضراء لدول منظمة شنغهاي للتعاون الذي عقد في مدينة تشينغداو في الصين يومي 8 و9 يوليو الجاري، والذي شهد حضور ما يزيد عن 350 ضيفا، تبادلوا الخبرات ووجهات النظر حول تعزيز التنمية الخضراء والمستدامة.. وقد شمل المنتدى المنظم تحت شعار «لنتكاتف في التنمية الخضراء، معا لتعزيز الانسجام بين الإنسان والطبيعة»، جلسة افتتاحية رئيسية وثلاثة منتديات فرعية متوازية المنتدى الفرعي الموازي 1: منظمة شنغهاي للتعاون "عام البيئة 2024" المنتدى الفرعي الموازي 2: الابتكار التكنولوجي من أجل التنمية الخضراء وعالية الجودة المنتدى الفرعي الموازي 3: العمل المناخي من أجل التحول الأخضر ومنخفض الكربون وقد قدمت م. نادية شيوخ، ممثلة للمركز عرضا ضمن المنتدى الثاني، بعنوان” إمكانيات تجميع الطاقة المتجددة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا"، تناولت من خلاله الإمكانيات الكبيرة التي تتمتع بها دول الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا ودول منظمة شنغهاي للتعاون في مجال الطاقة المتجددة، وخاصة في مجال الطاقة الشمسية وطاقة الرياح، مع التركيز على فرص التعاون والشراكة و التكامل التي يتيحها هذا التوافر في الموارد اذا ما توسع الى تبادل الخبرات التكنولوجية عبر مبادرات البحث والتطوير و والتعاون الصناعي و البيئي و كذا انشاء صناديق استثمارية مشتركة. وعرف المنتدى مشاركة عربية واسعة حيث شاركت كل من مصر وقطر والسعودية والامارات العربية المتحدة، كما ألقى كبار ممثلي السلطات البيئية والخبراء وممثلي المنظمات الدولية كلمات رئيسية حيث تم إطلاق مبادرة بناء شراكة التنمية الخضراء داخل منظمة شنغهاي للتعاون بغرض تعزيز التعاون والتنمية المستدامة بين دولها. منظمة شانغهاي للتعاون (SCO) هي منظمة دولية سياسية واقتصادية وأمنية أوراسية، تأسست في يونيو 2001 في شانغهاي، على يد قادة ستة دول آسيوية؛ هي الصين، وكازاخستان، وقيرغيزستان، وروسيا، وطاجيكستان، وأوزبكستان. تتمحور أهدافها حول تعزيز سياسات الثقة المتبادلة وحسن الجوار بين دول الأعضاء، ومحاربة الإرهاب وتدعيم الأمن والتعاون في المجالات السياسية والتجارية والاقتصادية والعلمية والتقنية والثقافية وكذلك النقل والتعليم والطاقة والسياحة وحماية البيئة. انضمت اليها فيما بعد على التوالي كل من الهند وباكستان ثم مصر كأعضاء كاملي العضوية والسعودية وقطر كشركاء حوار.

Happening Now: In cooperation with the The Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC) #LCEC, #RCREEE is conducting a training on the Efficient Cooling Systems based on PA-CEMP program. This activity is held under the #COOL_UP project funded by IKI, from 9 to 10 July 2024 in Beirut, Lebanon.

Professional Training Course and Study Tours on the Implementation of Appliances Scrapping in Portugal 🇵🇹 Within the activities of the meetMED II project, funded by the European Union🇪🇺, a “Professional Training Course on the Implementation of Appliances Scrapping” is taking place in Lisbon from 01-03 July 2024. The event is organised in close collaboration with ADENE - Agência para a Energia (Agency for Energy) and Electrão. 🎯The three-day training aims at enriching national policymakers and key stakeholders representing project beneficiary countries with practical knowledge about the EU experience and expertise of the E-waste management and recycling industry♻️. 💡Throughout the first technical session held yesterday, Pedro Nazareth, CEO of Electrão – a producer responsibility organization of electric equipment that is a European reference - focused on the importance of recycling systems based on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in the face of environmental challenges and the need to secure essential raw materials for the energy transition in Europe🇪🇺. 🔸The importance of these systems was underlined by the Director-General of the WEEE Forum (Internacional Association of Electronic Waste Producer Responsibility Organisations), Pascal Leroy 🇪🇺🌍🇧🇪, who also left some reflections on "European regulations and policies in appliance scrapping and e-waste".   🔸Mónica Luízio, Compliance Director at Electrão, focused on the enforcement related to the extended producer responsibility at a time when the new licenses have just been published and will be valid for the next 10 years, which represents a great evolution within the Portuguese recycling system.   🔸Andreia Craveiro, Collection Network Coordinator at Electrão, addressed the "challenges and solutions for scrapped appliances supply chain". 🔸Susana Ferreira, Waste Management Director at Electrão, focused her presentation on “waste electrical equipment facilities”.   🔸meetMED experts Ahmed Khalil and Eman Adel, outlined an overview of Energy Efficiency with a focus on the studies that have been carried out in eight countries of the Middle East. The targeted countries are Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Palestine and Jordan.   🔸Ahmed Abd El-Rasoul has further identified some of the challenges that these countries will have to face. 🌟This initiative is organized by the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) in cooperation with MEDENER and Electrão. The delegation's visits will continue over two days with technical tours to Portuguese recycling plants Ambigroup SGPS and Veolia Portugal. Training@ RCREEE The Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency-RCREEE is organizing, together with the League of Arab States - General Secretariat-LAS and the GEIDCO(Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization), a series of trainings as a part of the RCREEE Academy training program.
