“Governments need to fund ongoing vaccine R&D to have the relevant local infrastructure and expertise in place to tackle the next pandemic.”  “Vaccines should be thought of as a critical part of national security.” These were some of our key take-aways from last week’s World Vaccine Congress Europe. Thinking about the situation in Finland, the positive aspects are that we have universal health care infrastructure, well established vaccinology expertise within Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), National Emergency Supply Agency (Huoltovarmuuskeskus), and local vaccine R&D and manufacturing expertise in companies such as Rokote Laboratories Finland and 3PBIOVIAN.    However, it is vital to keep the investments ongoing, as unfortunately the outbreak of a next pandemic is just a matter of time.

3PBIOVIAN has made a significant donation to the Spanish Red Cross and Caritas Navarra to aid those affected by the recent DANA floods in Valencia. Alongside this contribution, we have provided essential supplies such as hand sanitizer and masks, while our dedicated employees are gathering additional material goods to support those in need.
