How it works: 🔍 The new service in EUTM Filing checks in TMView to identify potential conflicts with existing trade marks before you submit your application. Strengthening IP collaboration with EU Member States 🇪🇺 At the EUIPO - European Union Intellectual Property Office, we recently had the pleasure to welcome the intellectual property (IP) representatives from EU Member States - commonly known as IP attachés - for an engaging two-day meeting. 🤝 The meeting was a great opportunity to foster closer collaboration and increase awareness of the importance of IP in driving EU competitiveness, in line with the EUIPO Strategic Plan 2030 (SP2030). https://lnkd.in/dcgWgFRt The event, organised in collaboration with the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union, also featured a visit to a local handcraft producer, showcasing the significance of traditional craftsmanship in the IP landscape. The IP attachés’ active participation and engagement contributed to a positive exchange of ideas and knowledge, related to key topics: 🔹 Importance of IP in promoting the EU’s competitiveness and growth. 🔹 Impact and use of Artificial Intelligence in the EUIPO’s daily work. 🔹 Protection of craft and industrial geographical indications, preserving EU cultural heritage and supporting EU competitiveness. 🔹 Boosting IP protection through EU initiatives. 🔹 Impact of the new design regulation on the EU economy. 🔹 Strengthening enforcement of IP rights. Breaking News! 🎉 We're thrilled to congratulate the 'Barcelona Zona Franca' for becoming the world's first Certified Clean Free Trade Zone, obtaining the prestigious OECD - OCDE certification!   The EU's recommendation to combat counterfeiting gives the EUIPO - European Union Intellectual Property Office the mandate to promote and support Free Trade Zones. We're proud to have worked alongside the OECD 🤝on our joint study in 2018, which helped pave the way for the OECD's recommendation on Enhancing Transparency in Free Trade Zones in 2019 and ultimately, this certification 🌎.   As a key player in international trade, Free Trade Zones can be vulnerable to misuse for counterfeit goods. The OECD's new certification for Clean Free Trade Zones is a game-changer, promoting transparency and ensuring that these zones are not used for counterfeiting 🚫.   This achievement marks a significant step forward in enforcing intellectual property rights and combating counterfeiting, a key priority in the EUIPO Strategic Plan 2030. https://lnkd.in/dcgWgFRt   Barcelona's achievement is a testament to the city's commitment to fair trade and intellectual property protection.
