So excited to be at my first public speaking event in Barcelona next week, LGBT+Tech Barcelona talking about my podcast 🏳️🌈𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬🏳️🌈, and having to opportunity to share how the podcast came into fruition 🚀. Thanks so much to Docplanner, Rodislav Ivanov 🚀, Duncan Campbell 🏳️🌈, Glenn Wolfschoon and everyone else involved at LGBT+Tech Barcelona for having me. And super honored to be sharing the stage with Magda Stega 💕a DEI Practitioner, HR Leader, and a public speaker. And we're back with another monthly LGBT+Tech event - this month with two awesome speakers from our community, and more beers, pizzas, soft drinks and networking, all courtesy of our hosts Docplanner. 🌶️🌶️🌶️ We're very excited to welcome Magda Stega to the LGBT+Tech stage. Magda is a DEI Practitioner, HR Leader, and a public speaker. She will be sharing her insights on creating inclusive and safe work environments for LGBTQ+ employees. 🌶️🌶️🌶️ And next up we'll have Conor Edwards, creator of The Queerness Diaries podcast. We'll be discussing with Conor about the unique stories and experiences we all have in the queer community that impact our mental health, and have shaped us into the people we are today. 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Event starts at 6:30pm, and doors close at 6:45pm - so don't be late! Please note that once we reach capacity, we'll be closing the doors! 🎉 What an unforgettable evening we had at our latest LGBT+Tech event! Thanks to our wonderful hosts Happy Scribe we enjoyed a night filled with inspiring talks and networking. 🌈 ✨We kicked off with an insightful interview with Gustavo Liu - an LGBTQ+ founder who shared his story offering a deeply personal perspective on entrepreneurial resilience and authenticity in Asia. 🦄 Next up, Lara Fernández captivated us with her presentation 'Vuélvete Local: Connecting People using AI.' She shared her journey of creating a social entrepreneurship project that uses AI to digitalize and preserve local stories, demonstrating the power of technology in fostering community connections. 🛜We also had the pleasure of inviting Zak Soreff to introduce his innovative new product Credible that will change the way people connect! 🎊Aaand Andrea Canelo Pegueroles encouraged us to attend Rural Pride and told us all us all about its special charm that everyone should experience Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the vibrant energy of the night. Another smashing LGBT+Tech meetup, this month hosted by the gorgeous crew at Gartner's Centre of Excellence in Barcelona. We kicked things off with Salvador Della Rosa who taught us about his career in sustainability cross-referenced with Pokemon he identifies with. Megan Cadd shared some of the ways that Gartner is actively supporting the LGBTQ+ community and the plethora of initiatives that they undertake to ensure their queer staff are catered for. Ray Slater Berry sat down with us to explain how he leveraged his own dyslexia to build a content agency which now specialises in hiring and catering for neurodivergent folks. And we ended the whole thing with a fun Sant Jordi quiz before heading off to a bar. The amazing team at Gartner pulled out all the stops, decorating the office in rainbow flags, providing endless pizzas, beers, wine, cava and soft drinks. Last night's event at TravelPerk was absolutely epic! By far our biggest turnout with nearly 100 people, and a bunch of interesting and inspiring talks. David Serras Marquès kicked things off with a great talk about empathy, including some tear-jerking video content. Mihalis Saltzis talked about how allyship transforms the LGBTQ+ community and even added a techie twist to his presentation with the help of chatGPT. And Valentina Servile told us all about her journey as a queer young female published tech author and how most tech authors don't look anything like her. And we heard from Andra B. and Dmitry Drozdov who won tickets to 4YFN last month and told us all about their adventures with all that lovely new tech. All this was complimented by the gorgeous new offices of TravelPerk, and headed up with the help of Remy Gourlin and all the lovely queer folks in their Barcelona office. And of course a huge shoutout to our hosts for the night, Andrea Cortés, Rodislav Ivanov 🚀 and Glenn Wolfschoon. We'll be back on the 25th April, so watch this space for more info...
