Last week at Fundació Palo Alto, we had the pleasure of gathering with Leaders from different Teams and disciplines at Nacar for a session focused on their roles, aligned with Nacar’s purpose. As Leaders, they play a fundamental role in translating Nacar’s goals and purpose to their teams, ensuring alignment and fostering a shared vision. Through continuous learning, we firmly believe that these moments of reflection and connection help foster the development of our leadership team and encourage collaboration, vital for our growth—both individually and collectively—as professionals and as a company. We hugely appreciate Víctor Lemus Font and Guillem Daniel from Verbalima – Transformative Facilitation for their expert guidance throughout this inspiring session. Reflections for the future of Healthcare at the Barcelona Health Innovation Week 25 by Biocat, BioRegion of Catalonia. Through an insightful week that gathered Catalunya’s leading Health & Tech professionals and institutions part of our brilliant CX team, represented by Carmo Requejo, Javier Tejedor and Carolina Lauzen explored the sector’s challenges and opportunities, reinforcing the role of strategic design in shaping its future. A key takeaway was the ongoing struggle with adoption—not just for patients, but for healthcare professionals. New tools must seamlessly integrate into their workflows, ensuring usability without risking one the main point on patient-doctors relations: Trust 🤲 As innovation accelerates more and more each year, integrating new solutions requires a deep understanding of patient experience, professional adaptation, and system complexity. Without this, even the most advanced technology risks failing to create real impact for those who need it. Another challenge is data management 🌐 As Healthcare generates vast amounts of information, if we are unable to approach it with a clear strategy, its value remains unrealised. Transparency and system integration are crucial for turning data into actionable insights. Cross-industry collaboration is also shaping the sector through a holistic approach that reinforces the need for ethical and human-centered design, ensuring technology enhances rather than replaces human connections. Our projects, such as TRUSTroke and Umbrella, reflect these principles—leveraging data while prioritizing patient experience, data transparency, and ethical innovation. Extended Reality is here, bridging the digital and physical worlds. From smartphones to smart glasses, immersive technologies are no longer a distant future—it’s a present reality, transforming industries and enhancing digital interactions. Together with our Expert Carlos Salas Muñozcano, we were able to bring to light some ideas about the present of XR and even more questions about its bright-looking future. To begin with, adoption rates of immersive devices are mirroring those of smartphones, signalling a shift toward widespread integration across sectors. From hyper-realistic VR simulations offering risk-free training for healthcare professionals, to virtual dressing rooms reducing return rates in retail, XR is revolutionising industries. These innovative applications are just the tip of the iceberg, showcasing how extended reality is reshaping workflows and enhancing experiences across diverse sectors. XR is more than an emerging technology—it is a new way of visualizing, designing and interacting with the world. As adoption grows, the challenge, as always, lies in creating seamless, functional, and valuable experiences that go beyond novelty. So, how can we shape the future of Extended Reality together?
