Rocío Ferreiro Miguéns, from NASASBIOTECH SL, exposes her poster "Advance Liquid Biopsy for Glioblastoma: EGFRvIII Detection in Extracellular Vesicles”. Liquid biopsy (LB) is the analysis of tumor cell products in blood or another biofluids, it includes CTCs, ctDNA and extracellular vesicles (EVs). Nowadays there are many studies in different cancers, such as glioblastoma (GMB), one off the most common and aggressive brain tumors, with a life expectancy of 15 months from diagnosis. In this context, the role of EVs has been described as a good tool for precision oncology. The aim of this #thesis was to compare methods for the #isolation of sEVs from limited blood plasma volumes and to explore their #DNA and #RNA cargo in comparison with circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) towards developing a multi-analyte #LiquidBiopsy (MALBA) test. Our kit #exoGAG was screened using sEVs from in vitro cell culture models. In conclusion, results presented in the thesis show that sEVs harbour DNA and RNA cargo and can provide additional information to plasma cfDNA warranting further investigation of sEV cargo as a liquid biopsy analyte in a larger series of patients. https://lnkd.in/dKjQxKyp

¿Cómo vender ciencia? 👨🏻🔬👩🏻🔬 En el primer Beyond the Lab - How to sell organizado por ingenyus* se habló de ciencia, se habló de emprendimiento, se habló de resilinecia...se habló de muchos y muy interesantes temas y sirvió para abrir boca y quedarse con ganas de más eventos de este tipo. ¡Enhorabuena a todo el equipo! Organizar un evento siempre trae una complejidad y dedicación que muchas veces no se aprecia del todo. Alex De La Fuente, Innovation & Knowledge Transfer Manager INIBIC-FPN, nos habló de su aventura creando NASASBIOTECH SL. Contándonos lo bueno, como por ejemplo ser "pescador" de células cancerígenas, pero también lo malo, o más bien difícil, que hay detrás de ser emprendedor y CEO de una startup. Ester Vazquez, CEO y cofundadora de Tempos Cryoem, compartió las experiencias que le hicieron llegar a donde está. Lo importante que es contar con gente a tu lado que te apoye en las decisiones más locas que puedas tomar y lo importante de creer y apostar por lo que quieres hacer. Y de Manuel Noia, CEO Linknovate, me quedé con la importancia de escuchar para poder vender. Por que sin entender las necesidades de tu cliente no vas a poder ofrecerle un buen servicio o producto.
