Everybody thinks they know how to think strategically, how to be strategic, how to "do" strategy. But there's a world of difference between creating strategy and executing on it—or, at least, there should be. Too many organizations don't differentiate between the two and waste time and effort as a result. We love the do's and don'ts in this HBR article. Listen up, and keep your strategy focused and effective. ✔️ Avoid creating strategic plans for specific functions. ✔️ Limit strategy discussions to the business level. ✔️ Keep strategy distinct from action. ✔️ Use language that emphasizes an outward focus on stakeholders.
