We're delighted to share that the first of up to 80 new electric vehicle (EV) on street charging points have been installed in the city, giving people easier access to a greener way to travel. The units are being rolled out at around 40 locations by City of Wolverhampton Council - in partnership with Black Country Transport and Wenea West Midlands Ltd. Black Country Transport is also hosting 'Electrifying Transport in the Black Country' event tomorrow (Thursday 12 September) at the Black Country Innovative Manufacturing Organisation (opposite Dudley Zoo), where visitors will be able to test drive a range of electric vehicles, including cars, vans, ebikes and escooters, There will also be experts on hand to answer questions. Project Overview: A New Era for EV Charging in Herefordshire! Herefordshire Council is improving the county with the expansion of its electric vehicle charging infrastructure. In partnership with Wenea, we proudly announce the successful upgrade and deployment of new charging sites. Key Highlights: - All outdated chargers have been replaced with innovative Wenea hardware and software. - The first new charging site is live at Broad Street, Leominster, featuring one 100kW charger and two 22kW chargers. - This project is a significant step toward ensuring that Herefordshire’s residents and visitors have access to reliable, fast, and accessible EV charging. 🔌 The first of many new electric vehicle charge points have been installed this morning in Lincoln Road Walsall, Granville Street Willenhall and King Edward Street Darlaston. Working with Black Country Transport and Wenea, 35 EV charge points will be installed across Walsall borough.
