Interesting week at Freeed, we started on Monday with the webinar "Appunti di italiano" on how to teach grammar to primary school students: two passionate teachers presented their methods and activities in a 45 minutes live webinar and interacted with teachers&collegues, sharing learning materials, tips and tricks. The exodus of teachers from classrooms is a global crisis that demands more attention. The question is, what are effective strategies to retain top educators and ensure they continue their work in classrooms? Offering teachers flexibility in their roles, which could positively impact their income, offers one great solution. Take, for example, a teacher who wants to work four days per week and dedicate one day to developing educational materials. This passion for creating learning resources is not just a sideline; it complements her teaching, enhancing both her job satisfaction and her students' experiences. At Freeed, we are honored to support teachers on this type of journeys, providing a platform where they can share and monetize their educational materials. This Fibonacci STEM material is breaking all the sales records on Freeed ’s marketplace for teachers. Not a surprise though, it’s a brilliant activity pack! Lately I’ve been thinking that since there are several marketplaces for teachers available, those provide excellent test opportunity for early stage EdTech companies to see if there’s interest towards their content and whether teachers are ready to pay for it. If you have teaching ideas/content and you’re planning to turn that into a product, why not first make a pdf lesson package first and try to sell it? That would be a great free way to validate if there’s a need for such solution. What do you think? Do any early-stage Edtech accelerators suggest this?
