We’re beyond excited to share that Chris Malachowsky, Founder and NVIDIA Fellow, will be speaking at Slush 2024. Chris founded NVIDIA in 1993 and has more than 40 years of industry experience. He serves as a member of the executive staff and a senior technology executive for the company. Chris has been instrumental in managing, defining and driving the company’s core technologies as it has grown from a startup to the global leader in accelerated computing. Most recently, he was responsible for NVIDIA’s world-class research organization. A recognized authority in the world of integrated-circuit design, he has authored close to 40 patents. He holds honorary doctorates from the University of Science and Technology of Silicon Valley and the University of Florida, and was inducted into the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame in 2019. Beyond his technical accomplishments, Chris has also received an Emmy for a film he helped produce, Inheritance, that won Best Documentary in 2009. Aravind Srinivas once failed to switch to Computer Science. Now, he is the Co-founder & CEO of Perplexity, the AI startup leading the revolution in how humanity accesses information. With a dual degree in Electrical Engineering, Aravind initially faced disappointment when failing to switch to Computer Science by a narrow margin, a setback that fuelled him into online learning and programming. This became foundational for his later success in machine learning and programming. While studying, he focused on AI and published several papers, which set the foundation for his future work. He earned a PhD from UC Berkeley, specializing in reinforcement learning and generative models. He also worked as a research scientist at Google DeepMind and contributed to OpenAI's developments in language and diffusion models. In 2022, Aravind co-founded Perplexity. Today, the company has already gained rapid traction and achieved a valuation of over over $1 billion after securing investments from world-class investors like NEA Ventures, IVP and Bessemer Venture Partners.
