Last week, we hosted a Federal Sales Workshop designed to help high-growth companies enhance their fed sales strategies and navigate selling to the government. Here are some key takeaways from the day: 🔑 Passion Matters: Howard Levenson stressed that success in Federal Sales comes from a deep connection to the mission—serving the public and driving impact. The long sales cycle demands more than financial goals; it requires real passion. 📊 Value Beyond ROI: Ret. General Richard Clarke noted that in federal sales, success often comes from showing how your solution frees up essential resources—like personnel—for critical tasks rather than simply focusing on traditional ROI. 📌 Unique Federal Sales Challenges: It's essential for leaders to understand: • Longer sales cycles • Complex compliance issues • Security clearance requirements • The federal fiscal year starting on 10/1 👥 What to Look for in Federal Sales Leaders: • 5+ years of federal sales experience • Strong sector relationships • Security clearance • Startup experience in building federal business A big thank you to our expert speakers, including Howard Levenson, Ret. General Richard Clarke, Melissa Johnson, Kristyn Jones, Samuel Riehn, MBA, Craig Abod, George Hoyem, Barry Leffew, and Mike Daniels.

Generative AI has the potential to revolutionize health care. In an industry overflowing with data and tasks that are time-consuming and expensive, AI offers a powerful solution to automate workflows, create new insights, and improve the quality of care. But not all health AI companies are created equally. Health care is a double-edged sword—tough for companies to break into, but incredibly sticky once they do. That’s why we focus on health AI companies that practitioners actually use—those with a clear technological edge and a unique go-to-market strategy. While this is far from complete, here are some of the companies creating tangible value across patients, providers, pharmaceutical companies, and payers right now: 🏥 For patients: Improving care and trust 👨⚕️ For providers: Reducing the administrative burden 💊 For pharma: Accelerating drug discovery 📋 For payers: Navigating complex regulations Kudos to all the companies recognized as health AI pioneers. Check out the full overview developed by Yuri, Cynthia and Somesh, through the link in the comments.

AI is rapidly transforming health care—streamlining workflows, driving drug innovation, and elevating the quality of care. To stay ahead of these advancements, Somesh, Yuri, and I recently engaged with healthcare leaders and customers across the patient, provider, payer, and pharma ecosystems to create IVP's Health AI 35—a look into the most promising AI companies in health care today. Below are a few key insights we gathered from industry experts, highlighting where AI is making the biggest impact. The future of AI in health care is incredibly promising, and we’re excited to see how these technologies will continue to shape the industry: “Clinicians today face tremendous pressure to see a growing number of patients with fewer resources. We’re working with innovative health systems to restore humanity to the health care experience. The remarkable outcomes and resoundingly positive feedback from clinicians underscore the profound impact of generative AI on the future of medicine. By alleviating cognitive load and creating space for more meaningful patient interactions, we will improve the lives of clinicians today.” - Dr. Shivdev Rao, Abridge “Generative AI has the opportunity to vastly accelerate the time needed to discover and develop therapeutics such as antibodies, vaccines and peptides to cure many more diseases. Similarly to how generative image models allow creators to come up with novel pictures and videos, scientists can now generate improved versions of molecules or come up with completely new-to-nature molecules to solve harder problems.” - Stef van Grieken, Cradle “With AI, we can bring the expertise of millions of providers to a single customer, rather than simply allowing one provider to reach more individuals. The potential for this level of personalized care is what we are the most excited about in this space.” - hims & hers "AI has the potential to make health care more human – a concept that has captured my and many others' imaginations. AI can also make it simpler to access high-quality care - with quality measured based on outcomes that matter to patients. Health care delivery is in itself incredibly intimate and human and we are at the frontier of applications of AI - we should be humble about its benefits and limitations. AI is a complement, not substitute, and can always improve - as such applications benefit from appropriate human supervision in the day-to-day workflows." Azalea Kim MD MBA MPA, Accompany Health "AI will create new opportunities to find correlations across massive datasets and truly understand how to drive improved health outcomes at scale. From personal, tailored medical plans to better utilization of real-world data in medical decision making, AI  makes it easier for individuals to achieve better health through data insights." - Consumer health leader at major tech company

Last week my former colleague, investor, and friend Ajay Vashee from IVP and I hosted a dinner for finance leaders focused on diving into usage based pricing. We had a great group, and I learned a ton about what's top of mind for them. Some quick thoughts: - The concept of outcome based pricing is gaining traction. I'm definitely keeping an eye on the trend https://lnkd.in/gstQbzhW - Predictability of spend is critical even in UBP. This is why larger buys are almost always prepaid, upfront credit buys - it serves as smoothing function for customers' finance teams (who we know have a lot to consider to maintain margins) https://lnkd.in/gyk9cDY7 - Learning in person from leaders across a variety of different products is hugely valuable for me, and I'm looking forward to hosting more of these in the future.
