As Day 1 of the Musket Cove Regatta’s 40th anniversary celebration kicks off, Tourism Fiji had the opportunity to connect with Peter Boyd, a dedicated sailor from New Zealand who has been part of this iconic event for over three decades. Peter Boyd’s journey with the Musket Cove Regatta highlights its rich tradition and growth from humble beginnings into a major event that significantly boosts Fiji’s economy. Sailors head down a few days before the race and stay longer even after, exploring the islands and mainland. For Peter, like many other participants, the people of Fiji is what brings him back, he says "The event is more than just a race; it’s a family reunion and a celebration to the deep bonds forged in Fiji."
