Now available at our Hary Insights hub, we’re ready to uncover the secrets behind its potential success. Here below you will find some of the key areas our engineers are focusing on: • Performance: the new Model 3 Performance 2024 features Tesla's 4th generation powertrain, including a new rear drive unit, delivering a combined peak power of 338 kW and improved efficiency, according to Tesla. How does the new powertrain design achieve Tesla's claimed performance? • Software and safety: for the first time, the Model 3 features adaptive damping systems and an exclusive V3 Track Mode. This in-house software dynamically responds to driver input and road conditions in real-time, allowing for personalized control of stability, traction, regenerative braking, and cooling systems. What are the electronics and chassis strategies driving these innovative features? • Aerodynamics: the Model 3 Performance 2024 stands out from the base model with its redesigned front and rear bumpers, 20-inch wheels, and a rear spoiler, to enhance #aerodynamics.     In a recent benchmark study comparing the rear gigacasting of the Zeekr 009 with the Tesla Model Y, we uncovered key differences in how these vehicles manage rear-end collisions. As the use of gigacasting becomes more widespread in vehicle rear bodies, concerns are growing around the behavior of these large components during collisions and their repairability. 👉 Our study revealed that the Zeekr 009 uses two longitudinal extruded profiles to protect the casting, which engage during medium-speed collisions, leaving the casting intact. Additionally, the fastening between the casting and the longitudinal beam is secured with screws, making replacement more straightforward. 👉 On the other hand, the Tesla Model Y relies on the legs of the rear casting as the main absorption element, featuring ribs and a wavelike pattern designed to compress during deformation. However, this design requires the entire module to be replaced even in low-to-mid-speed collisions, raising sustainability and #cost concerns due to the need to scrap large aluminum castings.     FINALLY - a REAL 3D model of the #tesla #cybertruck analyzed in #CFD! After putting everything back together digitally, they uploaded the model to AirShaper for an #aerodynamic #simulation. After years of working with approximate 3D models off the internet (which already learned us a lot, don't get me wrong) we finally got our hands on this extremely precise model to finally learn more about the finest details. The outcome? A Cd which is nearly identical to what #tesla claimed, insights on the air deflectors, aerodynamic suspension covers, wind screen wiper and much more!     Just arrived at our Hary Insights hub, the Peugeot E-3008 GT is gaining significant attention with its STLA Medium platform, being the first vehicle in the Stellantis range to feature this innovative platform. Exploring all aspects of this vehicle—from the body-in-white (BiW) and EV powertrain to the chassis and electrical architecture—here are some of the key areas our team of engineers will be analyzing: • Performance and consumption: Equipped with 400V Lithium-ion NMC battery and heat pump, Stellantis announces a consumption of 16.7 kWh/100 km, with a weight of around 2.1t, which may be a disadvantage compared to direct competitors like the Renault Scenic E-Tech Electric. • Design and interior features: The vehicle features a new interface in its innovative i-Cockpit with a floating dual-screen setup and a mix of fabric and aluminum materials. It includes a standard 21-inch floating and curved HD panoramic screen.
