Our CEO Quentin DEBUISSCHERT was last week at #ERTC2024 where he took part in a panel session alongside Galp, Versalis, Shell Catalysts & Technologies and OMV representatives on "The Strength of the European Green Deal: Understanding Europe’s Position on the Global Stage”. Q Debuisschert addressed on this occasion: ➡️ The central role of the #refining industry in the #energytransition transformations; ➡️ The importance to work both on reducing the carbon footprint of existing refining assets as well create new value chains on renewable fuels and chemicals connected to their legacy activities; ➡️ A need for more clarity and a long term view from European regulators, on passenger vehicles electrification speed (ban of internal combustion engine in Europe in 2035), and on the benefit of renewable fuels and the desired impact of circularity - impacting positively both carbon footprint and autonomy; ➡️ The crucial support of legislators to support financially the initial phase of development of new value chains and get energy transition projects out of the ground.   Thank you World Refining Association and Galp for having us once more for this edition where Axens was particularly highlighted for its shortlisted #Jetanol technology in the energy transition category!

  [#Didyouknow] that beyond their differences, Sustainable Aviation Fuels #SAF and e-SAF are both considered a drop-in fuel, and can be blended with traditional jet kerosene? And that both do not require any aircraft changes or major modifications to the supply chain? Among the main differences between SAF and e-SAF: ➡️ SAF is produced from renewable or waste-derived bio-based resources that meet sustainability criteria depending on their origins.
