Geothermal energy: a global solution for a sustainable future Last week, we were honored to welcome the International Energy Agency (IEA) to Celsius Energy! This visit provided an opportunity to showcase our innovative geothermal solutions as the agency prepares to release its upcoming report on geothermal energy. Geothermal energy holds immense potential worldwide, with impressive contributions: ◼️ 16 GW of electricity production and 1 GW of direct heating (deep geothermal), ◼️ 100 GW of heating and cooling (shallow geothermal), accounting for over 85% of global geothermal production. At Celsius Energy, our innovations aim to make geothermal energy more accessible through a solution that is simple, renewable, and scalable. It was an honor to receive IEA, which has highlighted the critical role of shallow geothermal energy in decarbonizing heat. Une décision clé pour le déploiement de la chaleur renouvelable en France ! ◾Le maintien du Fonds Chaleur ADEME à 800 millions d’euros annoncé par la ministre Agnès Pannier-Runacher est une excellente nouvelle pour tous les acteurs de la transition énergétique. Ce levier essentiel de décarbonation joue un rôle majeur pour atteindre l’objectif ambitieux de 38 % de chaleur renouvelable d’ici 2030. ◾Depuis sa création en 2009, ce dispositif a prouvé son efficacité en soutenant plus de 8 500 projets, représentant l’équivalent des besoins en chaleur de 5 millions de logements. Autre bonne nouvelle : la géoénergie y occupe une place croissante, ouvrant de nouvelles perspectives pour les entreprises et les collectivités grâce à une énergie performante, inépuisable et disponible 24h/24h. Ce maintien est le fruit de l'engagement collectif d’instances comme France Géoénergie l’ADEME, la FEDENE, le Nouveaux Systèmes Energétiques, Comité Stratégique de Filière et l’AFPG : bravo à elles pour leur mobilisation !
