The House of Dior is proud to spotlight the first editions of ‘What Is Pride?’ – a cultural exploration that aims to celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as to educate #DiorTalents on the fundamentals of the Pride movement. Led in partnership with the Christian Dior Couture CSR & Retail Training teams, and in a special collaboration with têtu•, the first editions of ‘What is Pride?’ delve into the history of the movement, from its trailblazers to its milestones, share the definitions and essence behind the acronym ‘LGBTIA,’ as well as why this movement is still important today to the LGBQTIA+ community and their allies. Sena Segbedzi, International Manager, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, shares: ‘It is a privilege to cultivate spaces that enable open dialogues and collective exploration. ‘What Is Pride?’ is one of them and underscores the importance of education in the necessity of safeguarding these advancements through acts of respect, compassion, empathy, understanding, as well as honoring those that paved the way.’ ‘Being an ally is crucial for me; it means showing empathy, respect, and understanding for the uniqueness of each and everyone. It is also about having a voice to educate and accompany those that need more comprehension of the topic, and of course always being open to listen and learn,’ adds Cecilia Alvarez-Ossorio Vega, International Training Manager Retail Experience. ‘As a Trainer, I strive to educate myself and transmit my knowledge to others so that we may grow together and create safe spaces where everyone is seen and empowered.
