[Our own way 🙌] It's time for sports at Colas: Episode 9! Climbing, canoeing, soccer, biking… tune in this summer to (re)discover a selection of emblematic Colas projects that are making sports activities possible around the world. Let’s take a trip to New Zealand to check out our recently renovated netball court at Ngāti Otara Park in southern Auckland. Netball courts require a smooth, durable and non-slip surface for optimal performance and player safety. Our teams recognized the versatility of asphalt beyond road construction and put their expertise to work to create an exceptional playing surface for all to enjoy. 💪 But this project wasn’t all smooth sailing - our teams had to content with challenges such as weather conditions and strict timelines. Nothing we couldn’t overcome, however, with effective planning and a whole lot of teamwork, all while ensuring minimal disruption to regular park activities. This project highlights the importance of community-focused initiatives. Parks enhance social connectivity, physical well-being and overall quality of life. Colas is proud to be creating connections not only by paving roads, but also by paving courts! 🍦Get the inside scoop from Coach Colas: Netball on the international scene 🌏 Did you know? Netball is played by two teams of seven players each trying to shoot a ball into their opponent’s net. This sport, which can be played indoors or outdoors, officially received International Olympic Committee recognition about 30 years ago, but it has never been included as part of the Games. But who knows, maybe in 2028, netball will make its debut in Los Angeles! 😉 #ColasDares #ColasCares #WeOpenTheWay Colas Limited (NZ)

[Our own way 🙌] It's time for sports at Colas: Episode 8! Climbing, canoeing, soccer, biking… tune in this summer to (re)discover a selection of emblematic Colas projects that are making sports activities possible around the world. Let’s make a stop in Marseille, in southern France, for a project that will blow you away⛵ Here, our subsidiary SPAC SAS (Groupe Colas) took part in the modernization of the Roucas-Blanc aquatic sports center. Our teams worked to meet the requirements of major sailing events and deliver a facility that offers a whole host of sailing activities for top-level athletes and the general public. Our teams got to work in the marina, creating a fifty-meter-long breakwater made of prefabricated elements to protect the water from the southern swells. The quayside housing the Technical Center has been extended by a structure built on piles that accommodates a boat careening and lifting area (with a water capture and treatment system), and a refueling station. A pedestrian walkway has been created around the marina to connect the Pôle France Voile sailing center to the new breakwater. Two ducts were also installed to allow water back into the basin and improve its quality following problems caused by silting up. 🍦Get the inside scoop from Coach Colas: Learn more about Marseilles' coastline 🐟 In addition to sailing activities, the marina will host events aimed at raising awareness of the importance of protecting marine life and the environment in general. #ColasDares #ColasCares #WeOpenTheWay Colas France

[Our own way 🙌] It's time for sports at Colas: Episode 7! Climbing, canoeing, soccer, biking… tune in this summer to (re)discover a selection of emblematic Colas projects that are making sports activities possible around the world. Our teams are diving into the water in Slovakia! 🏊♂️ In Košice, in the east of the country, COLAS Slovakia reconstructed the famous Red Star swimming pool between 2015 and 2016. The complex’s three pools and two buildings were modernized, all the while preserving the authenticity of the site’s original architecture. For example, in the northern building, the wooden furniture in the changing rooms was conserved, as were the original lockers which were renovated. The project also included building a playground and a water polo pool for use by local clubs and for national and international competitions. 🤽 🍦Get the inside scoop from Coach Colas: Preserving National Heritage Built in the 1930s, the Red Star pool is a Slovakian national cultural monument. #ColasDares #ColasCares #WeOpenTheWay

[Our own way 🙌] It's time for sports at Colas: Episode 6! Climbing, canoeing, soccer, biking… tune in this summer to (re)discover a selection of emblematic Colas projects that are making sports activities possible around the world. Tri City Ready Mix Ltd., a division of The Miller Group, one of our Canadian subsidiaries, was recently responsible for supplying concrete to Ball Construction to build the new Wellesley Township Recreation Center! Located in the Kitchener-Waterloo region of Ontario, approximately 130 km southwest of Toronto, our involvement in the project highlights that our activities are more diverse than just building roads. 😉 And we can’t talk about sports and Canada without mentioning hockey! The recreation center features a regulation-sized ice rink with seating for over 500 hockey fans, a walking track, a fitness center and a skateboard park. This project also includes youth and senior centers, making it a real community space for all ages to congregate and stay active. 🍦Get the inside scoop from Coach Colas: Colas cares about communities 💛 In addition, Tri City Ready Mix Ltd. donated to this project’s fundraising campaign “Something for Everyone,” highlighting our teams’ commitment to being involved in and giving back to the local community. #ColasDares #ColasCares #WeOpenTheWay Colas Canada Inc.

Climbing, canoeing, soccer, biking… tune in this summer to (re)discover a selection of emblematic Colas projects that are making sports activities possible around the world. Reach new heights with us in Le Bourget, located just to the north of Paris! Here, our subsidiary Colas Bâtiment constructed an eco-friendly multisport complex. At Colas, we wear many (hard) hats, so it’s no surprise we were called upon to carry out all the works for this center, from the structure and timber frame to roads and main services to landscaping. 💪 Our facilities are built to last. After the new center finishes hosting climbing events this summer, it will be turned over to the local community. In a neighborhood where there’s an acute shortage of sports facilities, the construction of this type of center is vitally important for students, clubs and local associations. 🤝 🍦Get the inside scoop from Coach Colas: Scaling back our environmental impact is just as important as scaling walls! A project of this size involves major environmental challenges, including reusing materials, reducing energy consumption, lowering the works’ carbon footprint and storing rainwater, all of which Colas teams confronted head on. #ColasDares #ColasCares #WeOpenTheWay Colas France

[Our own way 🙌] It's time for sports at Colas: Episode 4! Climbing, canoeing, soccer, biking… tune in this summer to (re)discover a selection of emblematic Colas projects that are making sports activities possible around the world. The Waka Waka song, the Jabulani ball, the vuvuzelas… Today’s topic is, of course… the 2010 World Cup in South Africa! ⚽ To prepare for the event, the host country focused on stadiums, including building five new venues, in addition to making a large investment in modernizing its road network. Many projects were carried out to prepare for this tournament, such as renovating highway sections and building additional lanes, emergency lanes and multi-level interchanges. Our South African subsidiary, whose activities are mainly industrial, and its Johannesburg profit center therefore saw an increase by about 70% in their production of modified bitumen compared to 2009. In four months, 40,000 metric tons of bituminous binder were also sold. This was quite an achievement, especially considering the challenging weather conditions and successive stops of the country’s refineries for maintenance. After the competition ended, all these construction works left a lasting, positive effect on the country economically, socially and in terms of road safety. Notably, they helped develop less-dynamic regions. 🍦Get the inside scoop from Coach Colas: Did you know? This 19th edition of the World Cup was the first one to take place on African soil. #ColasDares #ColasCares #WeOpenTheWay

[Our own way 🙌] It's time for sports at Colas: Episode 3! Climbing, canoeing, soccer, biking… tune in this summer to (re)discover a selection of emblematic Colas projects that are making sports activities possible around the world. In sunny Southern California, teams from Sully-Miller Contracting Co., one of our American subsidiaries, helped revitalize the local community with the Albion Riverside Park project! This neighborhood had lacked open areas and greenspace for its residents for years, and this park was developed to provide a safe space for local children and residents to play, exercise and congregate. The finished park boasts workout equipment, walking paths, a picnic area, two basketball courts, a baseball field, a new playground and two soccer fields. Beyond providing a much-needed resource for the community, one of the main goals of the project was to improve water quality in Los Angeles. Under the 10.6-acre park lies five acres of stormwater storage that allows rainwater to infiltrate the aquifer rather than runoff to the ocean. This system reduces the amount of city street pollutants that enter into the Los Angeles River ecosystem, and provides residents with more access to drinking water. 🍦Get the inside scoop from Coach Colas: Adapting to local climates! The soccer fields were built with artificial turf to reduce any need for watering, and all plants used are low-water plants that will thrive in the Southern California ecosystem. ⚽🌱 #ColasDares #ColasCares #WeOpenTheWay Colas USA

Climbing, canoeing, soccer, biking… tune in this summer to (re)discover a selection of emblematic Colas projects that are making sports activities possible around the world. Colas is once again ahead of the curve… this time, when it comes to pump tracks! Our teams in Denmark, in conjunction with the company Dirt Builders, have built the country’s first tarmacked pump track lane in the town of Roskilde near Copenhagen. The bumps and curves of the lane were constructed with bicycle wheels in mind. Built with a 5 cm base course, the 220 square meters of pump track lane feature a top layer of white asphalt as wearing course that our teams applied by hand. From novice to expert, bike rider to skateboarder, all are welcome here to show off their skills, practice their tricks or just enjoy some physical activity! 🍦Get the inside scoop from Coach Colas: Active mobility is in our wheelhouse 🛞 At Colas, active mobility is the name of the game! From cycling and pedestrian paths to greenways and pump tracks, we provide options that are comfortable, accessible and safe for all users who walk, cycle and skate. Every day, we are giving you more reasons to ride with Colas 😉 #ColasDares #ColasCares #WeOpenTheWay Colas Danmark A/S

Climbing, canoeing, soccer, biking… tune in this summer to (re)discover a selection of emblematic Colas projects that are making sports activities possible around the world. Let’s visit Épinal in eastern France which boasts a stadium like no other. Here, there’s no athletic track or soccer field in sight. Instead, there’s a watercourse! A training center for top-level athletes, this site has the capacity to accommodate spectators and organize official international competitions, giving a new dimension to whitewater sports in France. On this exceptional project, Colas highlighted the diversity of its activities by carrying out earthworks, utility networks, concrete works, as well as pollution remediation and the development of the watercourse. We also implemented the low-carbon footprint Urbalith coating. Designed as a multi-activity leisure area with cycling, hiking and various water sports, the Épinal stadium encourages the development of local tourism. The fire service can even use it as a training ground for flooding risks and water rescues. This project serves as a showcase for the expertise of Colas teams! 🍦Get the inside scoop from Coach Colas: All about whitewater! 🌊 Did you know that “whitewater” refers to a watercourse incorporating a large number of rapids, both natural and artificial? Such an environment makes it possible to go canoeing, kayaking, whitewater swimming, rafting, surfing and more. #ColasDares #ColasCares #WeOpenTheWay Colas France
