🐮 Last week, Danone and Danone Ecosystem came together with Centrale Danone to host the immersive 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐤 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 in Morocco. The week was tailored to: 🤝𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭: The event brought together 100+ people including farmers, Project Implementors from 15 countries, as well as technical experts, Danone teams, NGOs, Government Representatives, and partners from various sectors - including the UE, EIB, IFC, AXA, USAID, Solidaridad Network, CARE Egypt, International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC), SNV and many more... - to leverage our collective knowledge to enhance and scale our initiatives to support smallholder dairy farmers. 🔍𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝: It was a unique opportunity to hear from farmers and explore collaborative initiatives like Hlib Bladi (Morocco), Alban Baladna (Egypt), H’Lib Dzair (Algeria), Margarita (Mexico), and many others, while hearing from Danone leaders and inspiring individuals such as Bagoré Bathily, Soumaya NAAMANE GUESSOUS, and Jonathan Barnow. 🙌𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: To effectively upskill Project Implementors and have a positive impact on smallholders, various working sessions were conducted: ➊ A session led by us on ‘Impact’ designed to help participants develop a clear and locally tailored roadmap. ➋ Experts from Phylum, MSD, Danone, Corteva Agriscience, Nutreco, TechnoServe, GIZ Maroc, BAIF Development Research Foundation and BIOSPHERES, agriculture régénératrice shared valuable insights on herd management, climate-resilient feed practices, and tips for engaging with farmers. We are looking forward to leveraging the event outputs at its maximum!  🎉A warm thank you to all the speakers and participants for their contributions to the success of this event. Your expertise and insights have been instrumental in advancing our mission of creating #sustainable food systems with #smallholder farmers.

Two Danone Ecosystem’s projects are finalists for the International Dairy Federation Dairy Innovation Awards 2024! 👉 ‘Les 2 Pieds sur Terre’ has been selected within the category: ‘Innovation in Sustainable Farming Practices – Environment’.  This program has flourished through collaborative efforts and collective approach involving farmers like David - the son of Christian Escot - and program partners: Institut de l'Elevage (idele), Danone, Les Prés Rient Bio , and MiiMOSA. 👉 ‘Hlib Bladi’ has been selected within the category: ‘Innovation in Sustainable Farming Practices – Socio Economic’. La relation humain-animal est un critère clé du bien-être animal mais aussi du bien-être de l’éleveur ! 🧑🌾   Cette relation se crée au quotidien par les différentes interactions et interventions réalisées par l'éleveur et impacte les performances des animaux mais aussi les conditions de travail et de sécurité. C'est un critère important pour évaluer le bien-être des animaux. 🐄   Grâce à la participation de Michel Tranvoiz (éleveur partenaire de Danone), les équipes de la Chaire bien-être animal VetAgro Sup et Pauline GARCIA ETHO-DIVERSITE nous avons ainsi exploré le sujet dans le cadre de notre programme dédié au bien-être animal. Formation à la perception sensorielle des bovins, construction de la relation et enrichissement du milieu, état des lieux des pratiques, évaluation de la relation humain animal à plusieurs étapes … autant de sujets travaillés et dont les grands enseignements sont résumés dans ce document.   Merci aux équipes et aux partenaires pour le travail mené dans le cadre de ce projet ! 👉 For nearly a decade, Ana Măiță has been an advocate for Women and Children Rights. Her passion lies in promoting #breastfeeding. 🤱🏽 Blooming from a common ambition to stand by parents and support women’s choice of breastfeeding, we joined forces back in 2013 with Ana's foundation Fundatia Crucea Alba, Healthcare Professionals and key organizations to design the SAMAS initative with the goal of 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬, 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝟔 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚. 🎥 Through this video, discover the successfull breastfeeding journeys of Elena and Denisia, two mothers who received support from SAMAS. 👩🏻⚕️ This success has been possible thanks to the commitment of 2,400+ Healthcare professionals, as they are ones who can inform and educate mothers about appropriate and optimal infant feeding. I am thrilled to share that I am taking over the position of Danone Ecosystem General Manager on top of my current Vice President Africa Milk Sustainability role at Danone.   Born from Danone's 'dual project', Danone Ecosystem has thrived for 15 years by empowering #communities, impacting #health and #planet through over 100 concrete projects. Its journey is rooted in the belief that Danone cannot thrive and be truly sustainable unless its ecosystem is healthy. Project after project, Ecosystem acts locally to transform Danone value chain into one that’s healthy, circular, sustainable, regenerative, inclusive. With over €200M co-invested with partners, Danone Ecosystem has generated real, measurable change through meticulous designed and implemented projects to make a tangible difference like empowering +80,000 professionals all along the Danone food chain impacting positively the lives of 6,000,000 people. I am thrilled to continue building Danone Ecosystem alongside a passionate team, honoring the legacy of Jean-Christophe Laugée, Eric Soubeiran, Yann-Gaël RIO, Pierre BOU, Ambroise Veillon, Nicolas GAUSSERES, and past members of the Danone Ecosys’team. 

🎥 Dive into the video and embark on an inspiring journey with Sukono, Ngationo, and Taufik – three Indonesian farmers, implementing regenerative practices on the Rejoso watershed. 💧👨🌾 The Rejoso watershed is home to a crucial water source for a population of 1.6 million people. But over the past years, it’s faced significant decline, which poses a threat to the #livehoods of millions of farmers and communities who depend on it. It was time to act. That’s why in 2016, we co-created the Rejoso Kita project. It’s goal? Protecting and restoring the Rejoso watershed. The project's distinctiveness stems from its #comprehensive coverage of the entire watershed: upstream, midstream and downstream. 🌳 𝐔𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬: 1.Improving water infiltration rate by protecting trees in the upstream areas and reforesting in the midstream. 2.Promoting the adoption of sustainable practices to increase water infiltration and reduce erosion. 3.Create incentives through the ‘Payment of Ecosystem Services’ enabling financial rewards to grow more trees, while preserving existing ones. 🌾𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬: 1.Implementing climate smart paddy rice. 2.Installing proper wells to improve water usage efficiency. 🤝 The implementation of this project is the result of #collaborative efforts. Its achievements are attributed to the involvement of the community and the backing of diverse private and public entities: Danone Indonesia, Pasuruan Watershed Forum, CIFOR-ICRAF, KSP TEKUN, KARYA MASYARAKAT MANDIRI, Rabo Foundation, SII Foundation and the Pasuruan Regency. 

🌏 International Mother Earth Day is a reminder of our shared responsibility towards our planet. Fueled by the power of co-creation, here’s a glimpse of how Danone Ecosystem is contributing towards a #sustainable food system through different projects:   💧 𝙍𝙚𝙟𝙤𝙨𝙤 𝙆𝙞𝙩𝙖, 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙖: The project aims to preserve and restore the Rejoso #watershed through sustainable practices. Through this initiative, 47,000 trees have been planted and preserved from 2016 to 2023.🌳    🍓👩🌾𝙈𝙖𝙙𝙧𝙚 𝙏𝙞𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙖, 𝙈𝙚𝙭𝙞𝙘𝙤: The project aims to empower smallholder strawberry farmer communities by providing an innovative set of training, technologies and capital access. Through this initiative, 560+ workers and 140+ farmers have been trained on sustainable regenerative practices from 2018 to 2023. 🐄𝙍𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙚, 𝙁𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚: Among all the organic farms partnering with Danone in 2023, 60% of farm surface area were permanent grasslands. 🌿🌱🍃 This initiative has led to preserving #biodiversity and creating a culture of resilience.   🤝 We are grateful to our partners making our shared goals a reality: Institut de l'Elevage (idele), Les Prés Rient Bio, Danone, Agence de l'Eau, Nuup, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, TechnoServe, Walmart Foundation, AQUA, CIFOR-ICRAF, Social Investment Indonesia, Rabo Foundation, The Nature Conservancy, KSP Tekun, Karya Masyarakat Mandiri and many more... !
