Changing behaviours: The road to smoke-free villages 🌱🔥 Meet Mrs. Prak Earnsrey from Cambodia, an advocate for the Smoke-Free Village initiative. This programme is at the heart of a larger systems transformation, promoting the shift from traditional wood-fired cooking to electric and gas cookstoves. This change is not only healthier but also more efficient, allowing for better use of time and resources. SNV has partnered with local authorities like the Commune Council for Women and Children to drive this transformation. Through education and community engagement, the initiative has highlighted the dangers of cooking fire smoke and introduced sustainable, smoke-free solutions. Cooking systems are being transformed, and a smoke-free future is being built, one village at a time. 🌱 🔗 https://bit.ly/3y9Hqj8 Every transformation is the outcome of countless changes. #SNVStoriesofChange #ImpactThatMatters

Sharing a recent highlight of cross-border collaboration 🌍💡. Early this year, a delegation from Lao PDR, attended by Ms Thitsamai Nonpasith, visited Siem Reap, Cambodia, to explore advancements in WASH programmes. Her key takeaway was learning a new technique for producing latrine rings from the innovative Mrs Horl Tim, a leap forward in addressing labour challenges back home 🛠️🔄. Thitsamai’s journey underscores the incredible outcomes possible when regions come together to share knowledge and resources. Let's champion more of these partnerships for a sustainable and inclusive WASH future! 🚽 💧 #PartnershipForChange #WASH #SSH4A Water for Women Rachel Pringle Gabrielle Halcrow Anne Mutta Alexandra Mandelbaum

Did you know that in Ethiopia, the diet is primarily cereal-based, and consumption of animal-source food is unaffordable to 70% of the population? Today, only 14% of children aged 6-23 months receive the minimum acceptable diet (MAD). 🥚 The Market-based Innovation for Nutrition in Ethiopia (MINE) project is committed to changing these statistics and ensuring every child has access to nutritious food, by boosting local egg production and consumption 🐔. Here's how our targeted subsidy scheme is making a difference in children's lives: 🥚 Affordable access: Families get 7 eggs per week. 💪 Increased egg consumption: Healthier, happier kids! 🍳 Improved appetite: Kids are loving eggs, both boiled and roasted. 🔗 Learn more about the project here: https://lnkd.in/d67cnsTi
