Call for nominations for #ETSI Fellowship Awards 2025 The ETSI Fellowship programme honours and rewards those individuals who have made an outstanding personal contribution to ETSI, to build the work of ETSI, or raise its reputation in specific sectors of standardization. Any individual representative of an ETSI member, with the exception of the members of the Awards Committee, may propose a maximum of one candidate per call for an ETSI Fellowship. The ETSI Fellowship awards are announced at the spring General Assembly each year. In order to be considered for an award at GA#85 (March 25-26, 2025), nominations should be received by 20 December 2024 end of day. ETSI completes F5G Advanced Release 3 enabling 10Gbits to everybody ETSI announces the completion of its Release 3 specifications on Fifth Generation Advanced Fixed Network (F5G-A). Building on the achievements of the Release 1 and Release 2, the ETSI ISG F5G has specified a series of new features and capabilities, further elevating fixed fiber networks to a new level. In terms of quantitative advancements, F5G-A delivers substantial improvements over F5G, including: - A tenfold increase in bandwidth (from Gigabit/s to 10 Gigabit/s) - A tenfold increase in fiber connection density - Tenfold improvement in energy efficiency - Enhanced reliability from five nines (99.999%) to six nines (99.9999%) - Improved quality of experience, L4 autonomous network. The 6th NG112 Emergency Communications with NG eCall #PLUGTESTS started yesterday, with close to 100 onsite and remote participants. This five-day interoperability testing event organized by ETSI with the support of the EENA 112 (European Emergency Number Association) is hosted by the UMA (Universidad de Málaga). The event offers face-to-face and remote testing sessions, to validate the interoperability of NG112 solutions as defined in TS 103 479 (Version 1.2.1), but also to validate the interoperability of different NG eCall solutions using end-to-end tests - in TS 103 683 (Version 2.1.1) or TS 103 795-2 (Version 1.1.1). https://lnkd.in/dbDwAqdd #eCall #NG112 #ETSI

Sophia Antipolis, 30 September 2024 Direct communications between vehicles, pedestrians and infrastructure based on 3GPP and ETSI TC ITS standards have been tested during the 4th C-V2X Plugtests™ interoperability event in Malaga, Spain, in partnership with 5G Automotive Association (5GAA) and hosted by DEKRA. This Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) and ITS technologies event attracted the participation of 24 companies and 82 experts – both onsite and via remote connections – with 94% of the planned tests, based on over 60 test scenarios, successfully completed.
