Last week, Trinity College Dublin, as part of the international pilot for the Responsible Futures Programme, underwent a two day student-led #audit for #sustainability. Supported by SOS-UK and IAU, a group of 10 students from different disciplines and degree programmes led a number of audit exercises to determine how TCD has embedded sustainability in learning in partnership with students, and provide recommendations to progress this important transformation. Thanks to Trinity College Dublin Global and the Sustainability office Jane Hackett & Sarah Murphy and colleagues for your all your work preparing for the audit. IAU partners with Students Organising for Sustainability (SOS-UK) to implement the Responsible Futures programme internationally. Delivered in the UK for over 10 years, RF is a tried and tested framework and community of practice, enabling #HigherEducation institutions to work with students to embed and apply holistic sustainability across their institutions, working towards #SD #ESD and #SDGs. ↪ Learn more about Responsible Futures International and how to join the programme here: https://lnkd.in/gk2WqGwh #ResponsibleFutures #RF #IAU #ESD #SustainableDevelopment #Sustainability #HigherEducation Isabel T. I invite you to read the following pare https://lnkd.in/eDb-CcJv which highlights outcomes of the latest IAU Webinar on “Rethinking education for a more sustainable world”. Stephen Sterling stressed that there is an "acute paradox that is facing us: education is increasingly seen as critical to the possibility of securing a liveable future. Yet at the same time, this depends on the transformation of education which is however deeply rooted in the current social order and culture. So, we have a problem on our hands in that respect”. Sterling outlined 10 of what he called ‘locks’, which he said were hindering higher education from playing a more effective role in promoting sustainability, and 10 'keys’ which held the potential for solutions.
