On 15 October, the ICC France Annual Conference took place 🔙 Nearly 200 participants gathered at the Cercle National des Armées for a collective reflection on the future of international arbitration practices. Secretary General of ICC France Emmanuelle Butaud-Stubbs gave a welcome speech, after which President of ICC France Matthias Fekl delivered the opening remarks. He expressed his determination to contribute to the success of Philippe Varin's roadmap and praised the ongoing adaptability of arbitration. He also stressed his attachment to the attractiveness of Paris as a marketplace, to which ICC makes a major contribution. During the panel discussion with in-house counsel on new arbitration practices, Olga Mouraviova, Virginie D., Anne-Sophie Gidoin, and Agnès Bizard made recommendations on three topics: 1️⃣ The systematic implementation of a Case Review Conference #CRC between the production of the first and second set of writings. 2️⃣ Ensuring that arbitrators have a good understanding of the case and are sufficiently available. 3️⃣ Control of the timetable and predictability of the procedure. During a fireside chat, ICC Court President Claudia Salomon confirmed that she is talking to in-house counsel to enhance the ICC's Dispute Resolution Services. She indicated that the 2026 revision of the ICC Arbitration Rules, Annexes, and Notes would provide an opportunity to introduce changes in accordance with users' wishes. Laurent Jaeger, President of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR for ICC France, gave the concluding remarks, after which the participants could network during a cocktail reception. 🤝 #ICCCourt #ICCDRS #ICCArbitration

New arbitration milestone for ICC: 29,000th case filed ✅ The Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration has registered the 29,000th case under the ICC Rules of Arbitration. The case involves Brazilian parties from the power and energy sector, governed by Brazilian law, with a tribunal to be seated in Rio de Janeiro. This showcases ICC’s impact in Brazil, and beyond, highlighting ICC’s role in facilitating global trade and resolving disputes for businesses. We are thrilled to announce that our Eastern European Advanced Arbitration Academy, the second out of six editions launched around the world, was successfully concluded in Bucharest, Romania. We are proud to reach another milestone, and sincerely congratulate all our participants for reaching the end of this year-long programme!   The final workshops of the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy for Eastern Europe were held in Bucharest on 18 and 19 October and covered topics of Award and Scrutiny.   We are grateful to the Co-Chairs of the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy for Eastern Europe dr hab. Beata Gessel-Kalinowska vel Kalisz, Galina Zukova, and Niuscha Bassiri, for their dedication, for leading the workshops, as well as guiding the participants from September 2023 until the conclusion of the Academy in October 2024.   🤝 We would also like to extend our gratitude to Muşat & Asociaţii for hosting our last workshops in Bucharest, and to our esteemed speakers Małgorzata Surdek-Janicka, Michael W.
