Today, Lesaffre announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Biorigin to enhance the supply of #yeast derivatives for savory #ingredients. Lesaffre will become the controlling shareholder of Biorigin with 70% of its total corporate capital, while Zilor will remain a shareholder with 30%. The deal includes Biorigin’s production unit in Quatá/São Paulo, an industrial plant, based in the attractive country of Brazil where there is abundant sugar, water and renewable energy resources. For Brice-Audren Riché, CEO of Lesaffre, “This acquisition of a majority stake in Biorigin represents an exciting new chapter for Lesaffre. It will offer development opportunities to meet the growing needs of the human food and nutrition industries, as society currently demands savory ingredients from natural sources. For several years, Lesaffre has decided to provide access to the world of art by installing works of art on its various sites. For example, the #LesaffreCampus in France has two pieces by artists Bénédicte Dubart and Manon Thirriot. This desire to invite art into the workplace actually turns out to be older than that; in fact, on our Maisons-Alfort site in France, there is a painting dated 1888 signed by Jean Houlik. We do not have precise information on the artist but legend says that Jean Houlik was a worker at the Springer et Compagnie factory and that he offered this painting to his employer.
