[#WindPower] 🚀 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 #poster 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲! We're excited to introduce: "𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒆 𝑴𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝑪𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝑪𝑭𝑫 𝑴𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒅𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝑫𝒂𝒕𝒂". 👉 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: https://lnkd.in/ea7amhHM 🌅 Coastal wind farms benefit from strong, consistent sea breezes, but regional climatic effects and complex topography can challenge wind resource assessments (#WRA). Choosing the right WRA methodology is therefore essential. This case study explores a coastal site with five meteorological masts, analysed using multiple modelling methodologies: ✅ CFD ✅ Meso-Microscale Coupling (#MMC) CFD ✅ Multi-Meso CFD 🔎 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: The choice of methodology should take into account the site-specific climate and topography conditions. Regarding coastal site, the 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝗼-𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗠𝗠𝗖) is the most accurate method for an accurate WRA. ✍ Authored by our brilliant team at Meteodyn: Ru LI, PhD, Senior Research Engineer Edouard Leonard, PhD, Senior Wind Expert Eric Tromeur, PhD, Director of Research, Innovation, Service and Expertise Zixiao JIANG, Technical Director at Meteodyn China If you're working in the wind energy sector or interested in coastal wind farm development, this is a must-read! 📊💡 #WindEnergy #CFD #CoastalWindFarms #RenewableEnergy #ResearchInnovation #EnergyTransition #WindResourceModeling #MesoMicroscaleCoupling

The Global Energy Transition: A Pressing Shift for a Sustainable Future.   🎙️ An interview with Mauricio Da Rocha Fragoso, Director at CLS of Energies & Infrastructures.  🌊 “CLS is fully committed in diving into the #offshore #wind world, where we are making significant strides. We are currently undertaking more projects than ever before. This clean energy sector is booming, and we’re advancing in the same pace through our innovative decision to develop our own #Lidar buoys. A synergy of University of Maine and CLS expertise in materials science, buoy systems and offshore operations allowed the development of the very first unit of our DeepCLiDAR, Carbon Trust Stage 2 certified and now embarked on an industrial mode on the premises of our susbsidiary CLS Southern Africa.    This investment in renewables is a key part of CLS’s strategic plan through 2030, demonstrating our deep commitment to supporting offshore wind. And with our subsidiary Meteodyn,  we pioneered #onshore wind over 2 decades ago, and we are proud to bring that pioneering spirit to offshore wind as well.” Interested? 👉 Read the full interview: https://lnkd.in/efvmRSwE 📇 Lets get in touch! #offshorewind #LiDAR #innovation #SARsatellites #renewables

It is also consistent with sustainability goals by making cities more resilient to climate change and encouraging alternative modes of transport such as walking and cycling. 🚶♀️🚴♀️ In addition, many countries and cities have wind comfort regulations or guidelines for public spaces (such as LDDC Lawson, CSTB, NEN 8100, etc.). 🏙 By incorporating pedestrian wind comfort considerations into urban design processes, planners and architects can optimise street layouts, building placement and landscaping to create more sustainable, resilient and enjoyable environments for residents and visitors. This improves the overall liveability of cities, promoting social interaction and community well-being. #Webinar #GreenCities #Sustainability #PedestrianComfort

🌊 The DeepCLiDAR Buoy, designed and built by Woods Hole Group, Inc., a CLS Group (Collecte Localisation Satellites) company (subsidiary of the French Space Agency), in partnership with the University of Maine, is set to unlock new real estate for offshore wind energy production, accelerating the transition to Net Zero. Rob Smith, VP of the Energy and Infrastructure Business Unit, shared his pride in the project: "We are all really proud of the successful development and testing of the DeepCLiDAR buoy undertaken by the technical team here at Woods Hole Group. The evolution took the concept developed by the University of Maine, with design integration, testing, and validation taking place in Massachusetts, making the DeepCLiDAR buoy system the first floating LiDAR buoy to be fully developed in the USA, and more specifically, New England." 🎉 Want to learn more?
