You should definitely watch out for those sudden spikes.   But those are just symptoms. What's even more important is understanding their origin by cross-analyzing other clues from battery data. For instance, when temperature outliers are detected, look into related behaviors such as HVAC status, resistance levels, or sensor readings. That's why it's crucial to have operational monitoring tools from day one and verify the data provided by the BMS. The BMS, a crucial and intelligent component, manages several parameters of the battery. However, calibration errors or sensor faults are frequent and can lead to inaccurate readings, potentially causing system failures or safety hazards. Here's a glimpse at what types of BMS checks you should perform - or get help to perform: • Controller Signal Verification: Ensure all vital metrics are collected and any missing or inconsistent data is addressed. • Physical Measurement Consistency: Match the BMS readings with the battery's actual operating conditions to identify discrepancies.     Hey UK folks, do you think it's possible to avoid losing 11% of your storage revenues? 🧐 The new 30-minute rule implemented earlier this year by National Grid ESO is starting to show its initial effects, with insights recently shared by Modo Energy. So far, since the introduction of this rule, batteries have failed to meet service availability requirements in 12% of cases, resulting in an 11% revenue loss. Why is this happening? One explanation lies in issues with managing the State of Charge (SoC) and consequently missing periods. If your SoC monitoring isn't optimal, the battery can be undercharged or overcharged, impacting its availability. 🔍What can be done about it? With the threat of penalties lurking under specific contracts, it’s crucial to be better equipped.     💪 How strong is the Franco-German cooperation in the field of batteries and new energies ? Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) & CEA-Liten have given us some answers at #VivaTech on French-German Tech Lab stage! VivaTech is the Europe's biggest startup and tech event. This year, Karim Sidi-Ali-Chérif, our Deputy Director in charge of research funding programs, participated in the round table on the topic "Battery Innovation in France and Germany. How collaboration propels innovation?". It was a captivating round table discussion on the forefront of battery innovation in France and Germany, where two pioneering startups, Litona GmbH and PowerUp, took the spotlight. 👉 Insights to Take Away: 🔋 The battery market is set for exponential growth, necessitating the replacement of critical raw materials, cost reduction, and increased sustainability to minimize environmental impact. Key challenges include developing tailored alternatives for specific applications and fostering innovation through collaborative European projects involving CEA and KIT. ♻ For Europe to compete with established battery manufacturers, it is crucial to expand battery cell production and focus on sustainable, competitive value chains, including recycling.
