When natural disasters affect our communities, our commitment to protect and beautify the world becomes even more applicable. Alongside the PPG Foundation, we are donating to the emergency relief and recovery efforts following significant flooding in several areas in Europe and catastrophic hurricanes in the United States where we have employees and operations. “Communities impacted by hurricanes and extreme flooding will face the effects, damages and rebuilding for months and years to come,” said Malesia Dunn, our executive director, PPG Foundation and corporate global social responsibility. “In times like these, PPG steps into communities where we have a presence to support our neighbors and serve those in need through financial contributions.” In Europe, our donations will support relief organizations after major flooding in the northeastern Moravian-Silesian region of Czechia and southwest Poland. In the U.S., our donation will support the efforts of the American Red Cross following Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. Matteo Sperindio, one of our global technology platform managers, recently hosted an engaging science workshop for students and their families during Open Night at Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia in Milan, Italy. The workshop involved experiments that uncovered the properties of non-stick coatings used for cookware items and displayed how our coatings protect and beautify many everyday objects. Students asked questions about the materials used, properties of the coatings and sustainability.
