Every action counts on this Global Recycling Day! At Royal Canin, we are committed to reducing waste and driving sustainability across our operations. As part of these efforts, we have started initiatives to nurture nature across our markets, such as in North America, where our recycling program in partnership with TerraCycle is making an impact. Since January 2025, we have collected and recycled over 1.3 million pet food bags, totaling more than 67,620 pounds of packaging across 7,799 recycling locations. Since the start of this partnership in 2018, we have collected over 1,352,353 pet food bags, contributing to a healthier planet. This Global Recycling Day, let’s all take a moment to reflect on the role we can play in reducing waste. Small actions add up to a big difference for our planet. How are you celebrating today? #RoyalCanin #Sustainability #GlobalRecyclingDay

Did you know that cats and dogs require nutrients, not ingredients? That’s why, at Royal Canin, we are dedicated to a nutrients-first approach. When it comes to pet food, understanding the difference between ingredients and nutrients is key. Think of nutrients as the individual letters of the alphabet and ingredients as the words they form. Just as the same letters can be arranged to create great novels or groundbreaking scientific papers, the right combination of nutrients delivers optimal results for pets. We choose the ingredients of our products first and foremost based on their nutritional benefits, as ingredients are only as good as the nutrients they provide. This approach ensures that we develop nutritional solutions tailored to cats' and dogs' needs and enables us to select ingredients that minimize our environmental impact. If you're a veterinarian and want to dive deeper, check out the dedicated course on 'Pet Nutrition Fundamentals: Nutrients vs. Ingredients' at the Royal Canin Academy, our e-learning platform dedicated to pet professionals. That’s a wrap for Crufts 2025! This weekend, we had the pleasure of attending another edition of Crufts, the world's largest dog show. Alongside showcasing our latest innovations, we were especially proud to welcome hundreds of supporters to our Choose Health pledge - committing to prioritizing pet health and taking action to ensure it always comes first. Why does this matter? Today, pet health is not always the top priority. Social trends are driving demand for certain breeds, leading to the exaggeration of physical traits - such as rounder faces, bigger eyes, and shorter noses - at the expense of pets' well-being. This phenomenon, known as hypertype, can cause severe health issues, impacting pets' quality of life and life expectancy. In the UK, pet health professionals, NGOs, and reputable breed clubs - under the leadership of The Kennel Club - are working together to tackle this challenge and ensure health always comes first. Join us in making a difference! Over 1,500 supporters have already signed the Choose Health pledge - be the next to take a stand for pet health today: https://lnkd.in/dHYXE7t8. #RoyalCanin #Crufts2025 #ChooseHealth

“It’s not my baby, but it’s still something we have created.” This #InternationalWomensDay, we celebrate the incredible women behind great stories. One of them is Madame Nicole Cathary, who played a pivotal role in our company’s foundation alongside her husband, Dr. Jean Cathary. From helping name the brand to preparing our first product, the "Yellow Soup," in her kitchen, Madame Cathary reminds us of the importance of empowering women at every stage of creation and ensuring their contributions are celebrated. While Dr. Cathary believed that “people who plan for the future never write about their past,” today we take a moment to honor the vision and passion of a woman who was critical in shaping who we are today. Happy International Women's Day! #RoyalCanin #ABetterWorldForPets #IWD

Today marks the start of the world’s largest dog show, Crufts! We’ll be in Hall 3A, ready to educate on the importance of tailored nutrition, share the stories of our remarkable charity partners, and support our PRO Club breeder community throughout the four-day event. This year, we’re using our platform to highlight the importance of Choosing Health, inviting pet lovers to sign our pledge to put pet health first in every decision. Each signature represents not just another advocate for pet health, but also a donation to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust to further research into pet well-being. Science is about to explore deeper what we've long believed: pets make our world better! We’re excited to support our parent company, Mars, in launching the Pets and Wellbeing Study (PAWS) program - a groundbreaking global multi-research initiative exploring how cats and dogs contribute to human mental health and well-being. Led by the Waltham Petcare Science Institute in partnership with leading universities, PAWS is set to be the largest international study program ever conducted on the mutual impact of human-animal interaction. It will examine the connection between pets and human mental health, providing deeper insights into how pet companionship affects well-being, including loneliness, stress, and anxiety. As part of this initiative, Mars has also partnered with Calm, a mental health company, to leverage their expertise in mental wellness. This multi-year study will engage 35,000 people across 20+ countries, delivering new scientific insights into the many ways pets enrich our lives. Learn more at: https://lnkd.in/e8uQvnuw. How does your pet make your day better? Share your thoughts with us in the comments. #MarsPetcare #ABetterWorldForPets #HumanAnimalBond

Excess weight in pets starts early! Data from 4.9 million dogs and 1.3 million cats seen by our colleagues at Banfield Pet Hospital practices and analyzed by our global scientific experts and research collaborators show that the percentage of overweight or obese pets increases sharply between growth and young adulthood. A particularly impactful insight? Puppies and kittens who were already overweight during growth were more likely to remain overweight as adults. Pet obesity is linked to serious health risks, including joint issues, diabetes, and a reduced lifespan. This reinforces the need to prioritize healthy weight from the start, with proactive strategies and proper nutrition to support long-term well-being. Together, we can help pets lead healthier, happier lives. See the details in the infographic below and explore all the findings here: https://lnkd.in/dmba9hx3. #RoyalCanin #ABetterWorldForPets #PetObesity

Regenerative agriculture in action! Last week, part of our Associates, along with members of our Global Sustainability team, stepped out of the office for a visit to the fields of Grand-Est, France, to discover regenerative agriculture practices. Hosted by Isabelle and Francis Pestre, dedicated farmers growing ingredients that provide essential nutrients for our diets, the day was a deep dive into sustainable farming practices that help nurture the land and secure a greener future. With the support of Soil Capital, these efforts are driving healthier soils, richer biodiversity, and lower carbon emissions. They also took action by planting a truffle orchard to help diversify crops and support farm resilience. Connecting with the farmers at the heart of our supply chain made this journey even more meaningful. Thank you to our Associates and partners for dedicating their time to help shape a healthier future for pets, people, and the planet. #RoyalCanin #RegenerativeAgriculture #Sustainability

Something important happened in the South of France last week! From February 13-14, we had the honor of welcoming over 200 participants from more than 30 countries to another edition of the ROYAL CANIN® PRO Exchange Forum, where we discussed key topics in healthy breeding. Leading scientists, communication experts, judges, and breeders shared insights on genetic testing, tailored nutrition, early training, and building a strong digital presence to foster the development of healthy champions. In addition to this forum, leading international organizations also attended an exclusive roundtable on preventing unethical pet production and extreme conformation, reinforcing our commitment to cat and dog welfare and proposing concrete actions to drive meaningful change. At Royal Canin, we believe collaboration drives progress. We thank all speakers and participants for joining us and for their commitment to our Purpose: A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS.
