For 28 days, seven students from aerospace engineering school ISAE-SUPAERO / MDRS Crew 311 (SUPAERO) lived a simulated Martian life at the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) in the Utah desert, USA. The objective? To contribute to the preparation for the future of manned space exploration, with experiments conducted for the benefit of space agencies as well as universities and startups. “Beyond scientific necessities, tracking our sleep via the Withings app as crew members allowed us to manage our fatigue and efforts.” says Franck Mathurin, botanist and crew member. Equipped with Withings Body Scan and ScanWatch, the members collected physiological data and real-life vitals. The captured heart rate was used as part of the AI4U artificial intelligence to develop a protocol for predicting astronaut stress. #Withings #ScanWatch2 #BodyScan #digitalhealth #healthtech #MarsSimulation #AerospaceEngineering #SpaceExploration
